    Hello all,

new on this forum, and a new ower of a sapphire hd6950 2gb, sku code 11188-05-20g. I've not had anyy success in unlocking the shaders, despite trying all the suggested methods. With one exception - I did not try flicking the switch straight out of the box, I (regrettably) tried to flash and therefore will never know whether my switch number 1 position already had a working unlocked bios.

i'd be really grateful if anyone with a card with the same sku as mine, who has got their shaders to unlock, could send me a copy of their bios. It doesn't make much sense that boards with identical sku's should behave any differently, so i'm hopeful that with the right bios it will work!

    many thanks in advance,

    Ackoman

I found that best "stress test" for OC is Crysis 2 gameplay.
I passed Furmark (extreme burn in) for 30mins and HOURS of BF3 gameplay without any issue with my OC (880/1325/1.110v). But when i started to play Crysis 2 (patch v1.9, highres texture pack, all settings maxed), my PC froze after some minutes. So I increase voltage by 0.01v, I'm now at 1.15v and I hope it will be enough, but it needs more testing.
So if you want to test stability of your OC, try Crysis 2 instead of BF3..

I got a SKU# 11188-22-20G and i tryed to unlock it, unfortunatly thats won't work.

when i was using RBE, at shaders cout was already selected 6970 shaders counts. I think thats strange my original bios was already at 6970, but i only had normal shaders 1408 ... i can't explain. Does my card was already unlocked but for somes reason i cant get it full bc the chip was "broken"

second trough , i flashed it with 6970 sapphire bios, the computer won't post. Wrong driver ?

Last thing, my Bios as same as everyone but it was 013.012.000.008.000000 (113-1E186J2X-O4B) for what reason i got this part in ( ) ??? I flashed it wrong ? if someone can explain me , or send me a unlocked bios for my card ! :)

Anybody unlocked this card to full sharder count ?

    HI,
    I have here the sku# 11188-05-20G
    PN 299-1E186-50SA

I tried all the methods - no success. I used RBE read out BIOS and uploaded with the radio button at 6970 shaders but after reboot shaders still at 1408.
Also tried different other bios files but no success.
Could anybody who as got this working send me his bios for this card with full shaders ?

    thank you very much

Still can't get mine to unlock both using StevePMo's Bios AND slippy's, Yet my GPU Appears to be the same version that you guys are unlocking.

Are any of you uninstalling all ATI drivers and CCC prior to unlocking or what?

For reference, My GPU is the following
    SKU# 11188-05-50G
    PN 299-1E186-220SA

I moved my bios switch BEFORE I ever installed the card, then installed drivers, and it was unlocked first time I booted up my system with the new card in. The P/N on my card ends in 520SA, so maybe that has something to do with it....

Your Part Number is the same as mine which won't unlock either.

StevePMo, the link you provided is it default second bios of 20g version?
I didn't notice about simple switching to have my card working as 6970 and I did it in old way: switched bios and re-flashed it with default 6970 bios, my PC won't up after that. How to restore second bios? Currently i'm on first bios position which I will not flash of course to have brick-card.

Boot up using first BIOS then switch to #2 and flash it once Windows loads.

Pill Monster, would you please throw to me your second bios?
Atiflash will flash my second bios in this case? If i'll load with first bios and move plug to second position?

Was able to re-flash second bios with backup of first bios. Would you please provide me with a bios picked from RBE "accquire button" with unlocked shaders?
    -
Looks like I from those 11188-05-20G owners who not able to unlock shaders?

BTW here is the reply from sapphire tech regarding 20G and 50G versions

50G full retail version with all cables including HDMI and dirt3 game

20G Lite retail version minimal require cables no HDMI and no dirt3 game cards are same model just package difference.

    Hey guys,

I have been trying for a few hours now to work out where the hell i am at, and this thread some how isnt helping me.

I have come to the conclusion, my card is Sapphire HD6950 2Gb Dirt3 Edition 11188-05-20G.

But unlike any one here, my Chip shows up in GPU-z as the Antilles, which is the one used in the 6990.

This makes me wonder if the card can run the 6990 bios?

    Hi ...
    I´d just purchased a second hand 6950 ...
the box says is a SKU 11188-05-50G
    P/N 299-1E186-220SA

Former user Flashed a 6970 into 2 BIOS , and never worked ..
I got a BSOD if starting in BIOS 2

Is not clear to me ...

Is there a way to flash second BIOS starting with the first BIOS ??

If not ... I suppose I must flash the BIOS in DOS, but could anyone supply me with the "unlocked" version of their cards ??

Anyway ... If I can´t flash the second BIOS starting form first , I must select the second BIOS and then enter in dos mode, Am I right ??

    Thank you all

Boot up using the first BIOS then once you're in Windows switch to #2 and flash it.

Btw I have a 6950 with the same p/n and it won't unlock. Better overclocking with afterburner.

And you cannot flash the card with a 6970 BIOS, only 6950.
