I want to get a new card but my budget is 250-260 dollars so Im wondering what kind of performance I going to have with the 660 not the TI just 660 against the 560 TI is better ,the same?
7850 might be a better card than GTX 660. And both will probably not be worth upgrading to from 560 Ti. Wait for it to be released, then you'll know how fast it is exactly. I would go for 660 Ti/670/7950.
If you are still on DDR2, your graphics performance will be CPU limited below the performance of a modern processor. New motherboard, CPU and Ram for best performance.
if you are using an amd 64 i would save up and rebuild a new system. keep the 560ti for a bit longer if you cant afford a total rebuild. your 560ti is already bottlenecked buy such an old cpu
Yep, I will agree with them. But whatever for now if will be a bit hard to know exactly how perform the 660 "non TI". the 660TI is based on GK104 and is finally close to the 670 ( outside rop and memory bus ). The 660 on the other side seems based on the GK106, and last rumors seems saying the card have only 960SP. without knowing the final clock it is a bit hard to know the performance of it.
Use your saved money and add a bit more to upgrade your system, it will severely bottleneck even a 560 Ti card. My brother's GTX 460 was like 40-50% bottlenecked when he had an Athlon II x2 250 + 3 GB DDR2 RAM. I gave my i5 2320 + 8 GB DDR3 system to him and he gained quite a large performance gain, it did the 460 justice and I clearly saw that the GTX 460 is better than my GTX 550 Ti lol
Oh okay. Well in my opinion, if you have NO problems with your current 560 Ti then upgrading to a 660 will be a minor upgrade. A 20-30% performance increase does sound good, but if you are currently running all your games with 60-100 fps then the performance boost would not really stand out. But if you have money and would like to try out the new generation of cards then go ahead and grab one.
I'd say try to throw in another $40 for the 660Ti, if TT's review is anything to go by it should for the most part sit between the 670 and 7950, either way still ahead of the 580, which will be a decent upgrade. Personally waiting for the next line of cards
Well my GTX 560 TI is dead ,so im looking for a replacement , I will wait until september to check th reviews and make a good decision .
well i have Gainward GTX 560 TI 2GB Phantom well it works very well with all games didn't see any problems with fps any way but i did build a decent build for my extreme gaming . There is maybe alternative do some benchmarks, clean dust out of gpu cooler, then do some benchmarks again, the final resort is to reinstall os and then install latest stable or latest beta stable drivers and check out all same benchmarks and see your self did it helped,It's just piece of advice .
ok thanks for the advice, im thinking i'll wait a bit and pick up an msi card, i love using msi afterburner. the games i play the most are team fortress and freespace, no new game has come out that im interested in getting at the moment.
