Im not even sure it concern the OEM activation of OS sold alone... only on PC / laptop sold with it.. and the way it is automatically activate on the factory before you buy it ( as for all Smartphone OS ( for the example ), dont mean you cant activate it the way you do todays..

Simply cause shop will not auto activate the OEM version when they sell them to you.

For auto activate pc/ laptop, the problem will be the same then of when you ask a new key.. ( the question is to know how many change is possible ).

This change only affects OEM PCs like HP, Dell, and etc. I don't see how this will affect system builders...

It won't. It's only for OEMs. Local "mom and pop" computer shops and "enthusiasts" won't be effected at all.

The OP is just spreading more inaccurate/misleading information and others aren't taking the time to actually read the article he linked to get accurate information.

The clue is in your title, "OEM". This is actually quite helpful for OEM manufacturers and businesses who buy from them.

    This doesn't affect you.

The lot of you are so stuck in the here and now. Look ahead and see what is coming down the pike. They have now sucessfully managed it for OEM partners. May not be now, may not be next year but what do you think is next...
