I turned on my pc today and got an ASUS Setup lost file error after I logged into windows. Any ideas on what's wrong and how to fix it?

That appears to be a log file in a TEMP folder.

    Do you really need it?

I had the same error after cleaning my temp folder and every time i booted i got this annoying asus setup lost window. To fix it just create an empty new text document and name it 101208Log.innis lost (not sure if i spelled it correctly) see the file the window is referring to
and name it the same then save the empty text document under that name and place it to
C:\Users\THEASS-1\AppData\Local\Temp folder now the problem will go away and you will never see this error message again.:)

Or, perhaps find and delete the associated registry entry?

Uninstall the associated program. Restart the computer. Reinstall the program and see if the problem is corrected.

Use " GeekUninstaller 1.0.3.5 " when you uninstall the Asus program.

GeekUninstaller searches for left overs that regular program uninstallers typically leave behind.

    Download from here:

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Geek-Uninstaller.shtml

As always , make a system restore point before uninstalling the ASUS program.

BTW: ASUS has no business storing any file that it would need to correctly run in the temporary directory on your computer. Some programmer fell asleep at ASUS!!

    @Black0ut:

    Try the above procedure again.

Reinstall the software. Look at the error box and see what the file name is. If file name is different, change the file name to what is present in the error dialog box.

EX. The old error dialog File name was " 101208Log.ini " I made an empty file for you with this name.

I've sent you a PM to where you may download the file.

    Let us know what happens.

It turned out that all i had to do was delete the ASUS file in my registry.

Nice work. Still, ASUS to have a file in the temp folder for correct program operation is sooooooooooooo wrong!!!!!!
