Just finished a clean Win7/64 install...been stuck using 12.4 Official since June. Can anyone recommend the last stable driver release from AMD for me to install that doesnt make the screen flicker on desktop or even browsing? Thanks.
I have no problems with the 12.7 drivers either. Obviously the problem lies with your particular configuration and not the drivers per se. Can it be your monitor, cables, etc.? Could even be a program, service, driver you are running. Everyone is quick to blame the drivers which you have to remember are designed to run on a multitude of different equipment. It's not like a gaming console where the hardware is essentially the same for everyone.
Thanks kept reading horror stories in every beta thread since 12.4 about flickering this, crashing that and the main point was at the end everyone kept goin back to 12.4 lol Anyway everything seems good so far, no flickering while browsing or on desktop. 3DMark 11 (Extreme preset) got me 5807 score not shabby for my 7970 CrossfireX @ default stock 1025/1450 clocks: http://3dmark.com/3dm11/3811186 Will try Diablo 3, MAx Payne 3 and see how those games fare.
This latest "official" amd beta 12.7 seems to be the most stable ive seen in a while. Not the 12.7 they released a while back on guru ive had graphical issues the last few drivers. This one plus the cap seems to have resolved them as far as i have noticed.
flickering never happened check you cables, remove and install your card in slot again...do not try to invent new problems...every driver since 11.X is godlike...
No flickering here, on latest beta's. However, I did have issues with screen tearing and shut downs with 12.X 9.00 June12 drivers.
No flickering for me on 12.6 WHQL. I'm also using 12.7 CAPs to enable AA adjustments in Diablo3 for eg.
Flickers here.. 12.6 and 12.7 both cause significant verticle flickering on the active displayport adaptor port in eyefinity. So back to 12.3..
Interesting enough I had that same flickering issue my self when I was on the 1366 setup I had and it was bad, and happen on every driver I tried. But Odd enough, Since going to this Ivy Bridge config, it doesn't happen any more. Even with the same drivers I was using.
that's very interesting !! cause i kinda thought most people with the newer platforms had more issue's , i guess it's really the luck of the draw :3eyes: or maybe the unluck of the draw lol
I've had this problem twice now. Has anyone ever seen anything like this? 24" connected via displayport and 19" via dvi. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ghs-88xUkj4
