I have an MSI and I would like to know the absolute best drivers for GTX 570M. Are there forceware drivers? Are Forceware drivers different than the ones on the NVIDIA website?

Currently I have the latest official NVIDIA 301.42 drivers installed.

Forceware is what the official NVidia drivers used to be called. They are just called GeForce drivers now.

I have 301.42 installed on my laptop and they work fine.

I've used the 301.42, the 302.80, and the 304.48. All on Windows 7 x64 with my 550m (overclocked to 823MHz).

I'd have to say it's a toss-up between the 301.42 WHQL and the wonderful (and ironically "Windows 8-only!") 302.80. 304.48 is atrocious, completely screwing up some DX11 games, giving lower performance, and causing all sorts of issues for all sorts of people.

Skyrim framerates, baby, that's what I'm going on here when I judge a driver's performance. Unless it's 304.48, which suffers in almost everything. Almost.

Every time I come to this section, "What are best drivers for X card?" thread...

Latest drivers are almost always best. I've always had latest nvidia drivers for the past 4 years and maybe only had two problems in which case I rolled back one driver version until the next release.

Have 302.59's on my 525m, only tried diablo3 for a few min but it ran better than previous drivers.

The best drivers are the ones that work best on your rig. Period.

Not always true. The latest ones have some serious game regressions and a host of other glitches NVIDIA has acknowledged.

Typically, the latest stable tree or "mature beta" are the best, unless a specific game received some performance increases or fixes in an early beta you want to try. But beware of the known serious regressions in 304.48 if you want to take the leap. (PhysX issues, shutdown issues, performance issues, 3D Vision issues, game regressions, sporadic DX11 quirks, etc).

Well, if you asked me one week ago, I'd say 296.69. Now, I'm really liking the latest 304.48 ones. Fast, stable, and no 3D clock bugs...

Latest ones do have some bugs, such as Deus Ex Human Revolutions not working at all (1fps bug).

Yes, these "What are best drivers for X card?" threads are kind of annoying.

I retreat from my 304.48 driver approval. Unfortunately, Need for Speed Shift 2 is unplayable with these drivers, I moved back to 301.42 (official) ones, and everything is running fine now. The clock bug is solved since I overclocked my card by a mere 80Mhz.
