    I've just looked at the release notes for these drivers and on page 6 of Chapter 3 it states:

    "Supported Operating Systems

    This Release 302 driver is a beta GeForce driver to be used only with Microsoft®
    Windows® 8 Release Preview, and supports both 32‐bit and 64‐bit versions.

    This driver offers full support for the new Windows 8 display driver model WDDM 1.2.

    This driver should not be used with Windows Vista or Windows 7."

    Note the emphasis on them being for Windows 8 only - I'm not sure whether this is because NVIDIA don't and won't offer any support for it or whether it's because they may have serious issues on anything but Windows 8.

    I'm assuming it is because they only want feedback for Windows 8. I'll post back if anything breaks :p

    @ Spets - Thanks! I guess by the time I get around to installing them I'm going to know if they're not working or not. Don't want something similar to what happened with those broken fan drivers after all. :D

    *EDIT*

    http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=231663&view=findpost&p=1421203

    ManuelG says that a v304.xx driver is scheduled for later this month for Windows 7/Vista so those will be the ones with the proper v-sync stutter bug fix intended for GTX 600 cards. He says that the v302.80 drivers have had NO testing on Windows 7/Vista and doesn't recommend using them. That's probably why some people are experiencing system and game crashes with these and the 302.71 drivers.

    Still we can beta test, right? ;)

    If anyone is in any doubts as to whether these drivers contain the v-sync stutter bug fix then this post should clear things up: http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=226227&view=findpost&p=1421232

    Basically, the fix was included in R302.64 and newer drivers so that means both these and the v302.71 Toshiba notebook drivers had the fix. I know people have confirmed that stuttering is fixed in some games already but that is the first time I've actually come across official confirmation from NVIDIA.

    I can't run the 64-bit driver in Windows 8 x64 RP.

    It installs but on reboot I get a BSOD with the msg;

    SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION (nvlddmkm.sys)

    Had to do a system restore and have gone back to 296.17 WHQL (WDDM 1.2).

    I ran both;

    bcdedit.exe -set loadoptions DDISABLE_INTEGRITY_CHECKS
    bcdedit.exe -set TESTSIGNING ON

    ...and tried again but received the same BSOD and error msg.

    FFS why does Windows 8 get priority? It sucks!

    Was waiting for new drivers to see if it fixes my stutter problem.

    I guess this is the right place to ask some1 who can actually help me to resolve my problem. Installed and tryed DP and CP but when i try to install RP before i get in to set up Windows letters go like disolved and when i enter set up its all messed up. When i move mouse it leaves traces and its all over the screen. And set up windows is also messed up and distorted. I tryed to install it but it enters restart loop after it tryes to set up desktop for the first time. So any1 knows what could be the problem and is it solvable? :biggun:

    Hi, apparently it does, but use at your own risk. Im kinda hesitating my self, since 302.71 caused system lockups on my PC.

    Agree its not official OS, kinda stupid.. I hope r304 will deliver.

    btw, this release has the newest HDaudio driver

    @ andressergio - Several people have confirmed it does work with Windows 7 64-bit but be aware that the driver has not been tested on it at all.

    If you can wait then the official R304 driver for Windows 7/Vista desktops/notebooks is due to be released towards the end of this month (hopefully next week with any luck!).

    Wish I could use VSYNC on BF3 without the anoying input lag... It looks like I'm moving my mouse over a butter or something.

    I have not had a chance to try .80 on all my games yet, but .71 which was also a Win8 only driver worked perfectly fine. And after playing a game or two, a few restarts, using youtube with hardware accel and browsing .80 seems fine also.

    Tested Heaven, Mafia 2 benchmark, Metro 2033, and Mass Effect 3.
    System locked up in the games and benchmarks, in low GPU usage games the driver would only crash. Each tested 2-3 times on Win7 x64.

    I wonder what the difference is then. Is it the 460? I have Aero off, maybe that prevents the problems? I have no idea.

    Oh dear, that doesn't sound very encouraging. :(
