Does anyone know of anything in these config files that can fix the texture bleed in. When I start a game or a different area loads, all the textures in the game seem to load like 2 seconds after im already in. It's getting pretty annoying. Thanks.
I did use a config tweak tool when I played Borderlands which you can probably still download off the net somewhere, but I don't think it would fix the texture loading issue. That's just a quirk of the unreal torny game engine.
I think there is an Advanced Settings Tool you can get but as above it I don't think that bleed in is fixable.
In the game's (game)Engine.ini there's a section with [TextureStreaming] you can edit, IIRC you can't completely get rid of it.
Here is everything under Texture Streaming Code: [TextureStreaming] PoolSize=140 HysteresisLimit=30 DropMipLevelsLimit=24 StopIncreasingLimit=18 StopStreamingLimit=12 MinEvictSize=12 MinFudgeFactor=1 FudgeFactorIncreaseRateOfChange=0.5 FudgeFactorDecreaseRateOfChange=-0.4 MinRequestedMipsToConsider=11 MinTimeToGuaranteeMinMipCount=2 MaxTimeToGuaranteeMinMipCount=12 UseTextureFileCache=False EnableStats=true HistoryDepth=50 ;DynamicStreaming=1 ;+DynamicStreamingDistances=1500 DynamicStreaming=2 DynamicStreamingDistances=1250 DynamicStreamingDistances=200 DynamicStreamingDistances=9
Try raising the poolsize to 256, if the game crashes take it back down but I'm pretty sure your setup will be fine with that, increase it until you notice the streaming less and where it's stable, some people tend to use 1024 as a sweet spot
Well I used a program called steam mover to see if the streaming made any difference being on my SSD. It still acting the same. Oh well, I'll play it as is.
Hear you have some tweaks http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showpost.php?p=2009489&postcount=535 Spatially this one: Shorten the time it takes for Textures to appear "clearer" Code: [Engine.Engine] MipLevelFadingInRate=0 MipLevelFadingOutRate=0
there is a nice tool for this great game: http://forums.gearboxsoftware.com/showthread.php?t=85874 Direct link to that tool: http://www.mediafire.com/?2w5gmdqjihj
I found an advance config tool on the Steam Forum that im using, but it only does so much. I'm going through the WillowEngine.ini file to see if there is anything else that can be adjusted manually for the better.
I found some more config tweaks that im trying out. http://www.tech-forums.net/pc/f15/borderlands-configuration-file-help-219072/index2.html
Here's another Borderlands tweak page. http://borderlands.wikia.com/wiki/PC_Tweaks I've been looking for a 1 page descriptive site with all possible tweaks for Borderlands but haven't found it yet. Started writing my own tweak tool a while ago, but never finished it. Main problem I have is finding what the default settings do and decent descriptions of what raising or lowering a setting effects and while doing that also trying to keep the gui simple and clean. I'm not fond of tweak tools that require runtime dependencies like dotnet, vc/vs...etc
Ive been reading over the wiki for this game and also found a couple more sites that had other tweak settings. I think i've done all the tweaking this game will allow. Now that I have all the DLC, i'll be giving this another run through before BL2 comes out. Thanks for the help guys.
