Again, another one that doesn't read the posts above....

So don't install caps depsite the dll version they are very older and don't have latest profiles for example max payne 3 cfx and and diablo 3 cfx.
Install 12.6 cap1 instead.

Today i was sitting 3 hours in the firefox, after closing the web screen goes all white (something new? heh) a hard reset was needed. After that it was only grey screen after black screen and grey - white again all the time. Hmm a mad driver wake up finally yay i guess . I went back to the good cat' 12.3, no probs.

however both the june 4th, and may 22nd are 8.98 branch..

I have yet to see a 8.99 branch

so his question is perfectly valid.

Caution to Crossfire users with ULPS disabled. This drivers are garbage. They got idle clocks stuck at 400/1200 after playing a game which is high enough for my taste. Even resetting clocks with AB does not work ti fix them to normal idle clocks 157/300 (HD5870). Back to 12.4 for me which also has 850/1200 clock bug on second card at idle when ULPS is disabled although it is easily fixed to 157/300 reseting the clocks with AB.

 

wow, this latest 12.6 BETA driver, together with the 12.1 BETA CAP is brilliant with Skyrim..
- crossfire runs really smoothly..

i wonder about the branch numbers too, what i think is the CAP branch is more like a 'these will go into the base driver for sure in 8.99' (since every driver comes with a CAP .blb that's older than the CAPs that get posted), not that 8.99 is here & ready (they've probably been dealing with 8.99 for months in alpha/internal stages)

no, all the 2, 3, 4 series code is removed, you can even see how the dx9 & ogl dlls are smaller

you could try the benchmark3d method of tricking CCC, but dont expect it to work c1:

Sounds like a good move. It's about having working drivers with the correct fixes, not sticking to a schedule which I think most of us say is impossible for them to adhere to without breaking something.

Running these drivers at the moment and no issues for me as yet.

 

I'll confirm this tonight if you'd like me to test. Have downloaded but am yet to install.

 

Guys, I'll ask here cause it happens to be using this driver currently.

Since I got my 7950, on BF3 I had a serious 'problem' but I couldn't even realise it was a problem. I don't know what exactly is going on. So, when I was getting 51FPS and below, I had extreme stuttering. It was almost unplayable and that's why sometimes I was playing on Medium settings. I didn't like this behavior at all...

Yesterday, for first time while the game goes down to even 40FPS it remains smooth... Not completely, you understand... but fully playable... I didn't change anything... What happened and the behavior changed so drastically? I can now play on Ultra for instance with 2xMSAA without problem. Yes, I'm getting dips to 40/41/42FPS but it's totally manageable... Previously 51/50/49FPS and of course below, it wasn't manageable...

Any explanation? Additionaly, did the last patch brought any improvements on you? Before the patch, when I was dead and ready to re-spawn, I could see the players lagging, but now their movement is smooth ( through the blue screen ). Also, the High/Ultra Mesh quality helps even better to see players in distance.

 

don't get me wrong, but whats the point in all that unknown beta drivers? If at least a change log would be present, so i can read if i need this or not.

 

Really these drivers did just the opposite for me, I couldn't use my OC's or disable ULPS with the 12.6 beta's. Now that I loaded these I can use sapphire Trixx and it works fantastic, I can disable ULPS with trix and my overclocks work great.
These drivers and also better for making my games run much smoother.

 

I use TwL's Genetix Cleaner to clean any left over driver files before installing a new driver.

1. Unzip genetix_cleanup501.rar then copy support_tools and gpuclean.cmd from the genetix_cleanup501 folder into a new folder on C:\ named gpuclean.

2. Launch regular command prompt with Administrator rights (Start Menu > Accessories > 'Right Click' Command Prompt > Run As Administrator

3. Change folder in command prompt window by typing: cd c:\gpuclean

4. Type: gpuclean to Command Prompt to run Genetix Cleaner.

Genetix Cleaner will guide you through the clean up process and remove all the old driver files. When Genetix Cleaner has finished you can install the new catalyst driver.

 

I don't recommend using this. Just used it and now my windows will not boot. I'm not upset because I am almost always willing to try new things, even if risky, and because I had a backup I'm still convinced that this is the most legitimate and complete way to remove and re-install drivers

Then, what is the best driver for you now? (HD6990).

 

I went back to Catalyst 8.97 April 18, but with modifications. But the 8.980 isn`t a bad driver, I got my best Score with them (ASUS Mars Mod) and the other good thing is, downsampling works also..
