I've played the first one with the Blitzkrieg Mod to death, and still play it today when I have time, so this comes as awesome news, and I'm absolutely gonna' buy it. However, I guess I'm the only one somewhat disappointed that they decided to create CoH 2 based on an already existing CoH 1 mod? They should have left it at that and focused on something new. Would have loved to have seen the Japanese make an appearance this time! So many options right there. Imagine the same engine and gameplay based on modern warfare? Mind = blown.
well then it would be like a world in conflict which isnt necessarily a bad thing. yeah i'd like to see a japanese company of heroes with some aussies/brits/yanks in the mix. even a ww1 scenario..but that perhaps might be a bit stale re trench warfare.
I felt like it was pretty obviously a commentary on the OP, a sarcastic one, but no one seems to be picking up on it. OP:
Hey c'mon, I'm not talking Call of Duty here! uke2: How didn't I know about this till now?! :3eyes: Thanks a lot! P.S - Mind = blown. :nerd:
Since the CoD crap "Modern Warfare became rather derogatory (although the first was ok ). But yea, CoH in a modern setting could be quite cool even though I for one am a sucker for WW2. :nerd:
No problem! Glad to spread the word, since the mod is amazing. Comes with an auto-update feature even. - PR-0927
If you guys like a more modern setting, European Escelation is another game worth checking out although it is not quite like COH but more WiC. No base building and large scale battles.
I was impressed by the gfx on the 1st one. This certainly doesnt give me that same impression. Gameplay is the most important part tho. Tbh i would be happy with just a copy/paste of original on a new setting. (I can settle with just a more finetuned copy of the first tho )
To be fair, I can't imagine the Axis have changed that much, so it makes sense to show off the new faction.
I really expected much more from the graphics department considering how advanced COH1 was for the time. The graphics in the latest version look five years out of date; just compare them to "World in Conflict" for example: Spoiler

While it's true that CoH2 doesn't look as good as CoH did for its time, that comparison to World in Conflict is not really accurate since that's not how that game looks like in game. This is much closer to how World in Conflict looks when you are actually playing it. Spoiler
