GAME Australia: no refunds for Diablo III pre-orders

    If the company is in administration then customers will have to join the queue of creditors with all the others. The administrator gets paid first, then trustees and so on, creditors are at the bottom of the list and usually take the most loss.

    This is technically wrong. Blizzard will compensate you if you provide proof of your payment. You have to buy the game yourself but if you show them your GAME receipt they'll send you the money GAME stole from you.

    They'll do this for an amount paid, whether it's just a $5 preorder fee or the full cost.

    So you don't get a free copy just for paying the reservation fee but at least you get that money back.

    I dont think you grasp this.

    Businesses never set out to fail/defraud(apart from investment schemes).

    There is no "business owner" here, its a company, a CEO cannot be held totally responsible for the failed business or business model he inherits.

    Imagine being offered a job as CEO of say Yahoo!(failing) and being told that you are personally liable for all debts if business collapses.

    Hope this explains it.

    Most if not all Aussies pay in full for preorders

    Meaning ...you get your money back from blizzard....So therfore you are getting the game from blizzard :p
    i never said they are giving them out for free...

    Someone who scratched and saved $60 to buy the game is still SOL until he gets a check in the mail. Just don't want anyone getting false hope thinking that Blizz will give them the copy they are owed.

    lol. the ****ty thing about living in australia is that despite the value of the aussie dollar surpassing the value of the american dollar, we still pay 50-100% more for games. ie. diablo 3 costs us $88 if we buy from a retail store here.

    most of us just buy online and make the most of our money.

    I think what he meant is that Game as a business saw this coming and just like most business that fail they do see this coming and continue to take money from their costumers up till the end, vigilance is the customers responsibility though.

    The comment about finding out who the CEO or business owner was is sort of legitimate, although banks may never give them a loan they may find enough private investors to restart a similar business, and the same cycle may or may not happen again.

    I am happy Blizzard is taking care of this, classy of them.

    What's that got to do with anything?

    I suppose because of my wage I SHOULD be paying $4000+ for photoshop (E.G) when the US pay around $2000 for a bunch of 0's and 1's
