Well this card is for super enthusiasts in my opiion. My 7850 plays anything at 1080p, normally maxed. In a near future i will crossfire it and enjoy them for at least 2/3 years. Imagine two 690 in sli...some serious power that only applies for very high resolutions or extreme mods imo. Although technology is moving so fast i dont take nothing for certain anymore.

A lot of 'super enthusiasts' here. Lots of peeps here do SLI and CF with the top cards so $999 is probably in their ballpark.

Yeah, noticed that. Well it´s their business, but i can´t but feel a little surprised people SLI 680 and CF 7970. But as i said, tomorrow even that type of system will lag.

The technology is moving fast but the games to make use of this technology are very few and far between, hence hardware lasting years.

Hopefully the new consoles will bring some new stuff to the table. I can´t believe for how many years dx9 has been used.:3eyes:

The new consoles will be far enough behind current PC tech that they won't make much, if any, real difference.

Current gen console ports are taking high end PC's game to run if you want a higher resolution, framerate and some AA, next gen games are either going to cripple PC's or be so similar it will make PC's look like a waste of money for single screen gamers.

Hoping i'm wrong, but that is how things are looking in the future.

    Aint surprised it wasnt higher.

I have heard that some people even got elder scrolls IV oblivion with insane settings and mods and @ only 800X600 resolution, ate over 1gb of VRAM, 800X600!!!!.

Now folks, that is absolutely dead insane.

Microsoft have extended the support for XP till 2014 as users from a corporate point of view dont want to change, nobody likes change.

Dual chip cards are always f***ing awful when it comes to microstutter. I've owned a 9800GX2, GTX295 and GTX 590. All had microstutter in Quad SLI and little to no performance boost vs 3-Way SLI.

The best results i've found come from 2x Single GPU cards in SLI.

When the time comes i will be selling my 680's and moving onto the 685 or whatever Nvidia decides to call GK110

Ive had no problems whatsoever regarding stutter using dual/quad gpu's.

I love change in most cases. Now, if we were going back to the Win3.1 Progman UI, I'd be a little pissed....but Metro doesn't bother me in the least.

It's pretty well known that Quad GPU scaling is rather horrid....and in most cases heavily bottlenecked.

    No cards sent to press?
But it seems like [H]ard|OCP got it sent to them by Nvidia without problems.
Considering the parts, no wonder this beast has an MSRP of $899 to $999.
