Guys, I'm beginning to freak out a little. Just bought a GTX680 SLI setup for my rig but it's not working. Rig: - i7 3960X - 2x GTX680 - Rampage 4 Extreme - XFX 1000w Platinium PSU What's the trouble? When I want to activate SLI I'm getting this error after 30 seconds and my drivers are screwed and needs reinstalling: http://i42.tinypic.com/sytsol.jpg Gebeurtenisnaam van probleem: APPCRASH Naam van de toepassing: nvcplui.exe Versie van toepassing: 4.4.730.0 Tijdstempel van toepassing: 4f7c06da Naam van foutmodule: nvgames.dll Versie van foutmodule: 6.14.13.110 Tijdstempel van foutmodule: 4f64ed1d Uitzonderingscode: c0000005 Uitzonderingsmarge: 00000000000a9677 Versie van besturingssysteem: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Landinstelling-id: 1043 Aanvullende informatie 1: c1ae Aanvullende informatie 2: c1ae4f18096e23e1cda4b14ad816e8f6 Aanvullende informatie 3: 1e82 Aanvullende informatie 4: 1e8288df56a6872aadf8754f7ce56935 List things I tried: - Tested the cards seperately, work fine! - Update bios REX4 to latest! - Tested 3 drivers, WHQL 301.10, Beta 301.24, Beta 301.25! - Before placing the cards I deinstalled the software, rebooted the system, placed 1 card, booted in safe mode, used driversweeper, rebooted again. Installed the driver, rebooted, installed the second card + SLI connector, bootup and put on SLI. - Used 2 way and 3 way SLI connectors, no difference! - Placed the cards in different slots, no difference! - Used CCleaner to clean errors, no difference! The only thing that made a difference was this: To explain further. NVCPlUI.exe used to be in Windows\System32 directory, it's now in C:\Program Files\NVIDIA Corporation\Control Panel Client. If you really want to run the PhysX cp from within control panel then copy NVCPlUI.exe into System32 directory and it will run I did that, now my AppCrash turned into a AppHang. I can reboot the system without having to reinstall the drivers again. But, it's still not enabling SLI. Looks like a software problem. Anybody recognise this? I really want to put the SLI on these baby's! Thanks guys!
Didn't you just install the 2 cards and then install the driver? I never heard of the method you are using and had many sli setups over the years.
Done that also, still same problem. I just did a complete windows reinstall, still same problem. It's driving me nuts!
I did! Both 2x 6 are installed. Think I found my problem: http://www.overclock.net/t/1151913/nvidia-control-panel-crashes-when-enabling-sli/10 I'm running a illegal copy of Windows 7, many people have problems with that running the latest platform motherboards / serie graphic cards. So I'm gonna buy a legal copy next week first!
Spend top money on a brilliant rig but run pirated Windows version, well done. Good luck with the problem and come back when you own the software.
Sorry for going off topic but i was wondering if Pcie 3.0 was working on your x79 680GTX setup? or is it still broken? kind of annoyed that these cards and mobos are advertising 3.0 but it has not been working
You need the whole Enchalada to be fully utilized. The CPU-IVY- Not out yet. And even then, Can't see making much of a difference,(Yet). Later
:bang: Man, what a silly thing to do. How much is an OEM Win 7 copy going to cost you? Compare that to what you spent on your rig. Talk about saving at the wrong end...?
Sorry but pci-e 3.0 does not need a ivy for it to work, just a compatible mobo and card, my ud7 x79 has 2x16pcie 3.0 slots , was wondering if it was working in 3.0 mode for those with 680,s
My understanding is that 3.0 is not implemented and reverts back to 2.0 if not. Show me some proof thats not the case. Later

From what I read to be (Fully) implemented its going to take the chip and a Bios update for those boards. So if true, Not a board problem. Later
