Here's an interesting thing about Adaptive V-sync- want to get this out there in the thread.

I was testing it with various games (Skyrim, SWTOR, Witcher 2, etc, some others).

You can use the nvidia CP or nvidia inspector to turn it on. Folks have been asking whether they need to turn vsync off or on in-game. Well what I've noticed is in the CP, Adaptive Vsync is integrated with the Vsync setting- meaning you just set it to adaptive and you're done. What's interesting is that if you then go into nvidia inspector to see what it did.. there are 2 vsync settings:

    Adaptive Vsync: Adaptive
    Vsync: Force On

Changing the 1 setting in Nvidia CP changes the above 2 settings as shown. So if you used nvidia inspector to turn on Adaptive Vsync and you turned off vsync in-game, it won't do anything. You frame rates will merrily go well over your refresh rate. You'll have to change both settings in nvidia inspector.

I guess the idea of an in-game vsync setting being on or off is kinda moot, since turning on Adaptive Vsync means "Forcing On" Vsync at the driver level.

See if you can find a 120Hz screen to try.

Actually can you try something for me? Using nvidia inspector, go into your frame limiter settings. They're different now than the prior drivers. It says frame limiter: 50, 55, 59, 60 as you'd expect. But some of the options like 58 fps says "58 (no input lag on vsync 60hz)"

Perhaps try that setting and see what happens?

Is any one noticed there is 0 pre-rendered frames on all profiles through Inspector with this driver? Just wonder why?

you can reduce the "Maximum Pre-rendered Frames" the default is 3.

the value determines how many frames should be prepared by the CPU before passing them to your GPU, this of course will introduce mouse lag.

change it to 2 or 1 and test your game, generally that should sort the lag, don't use 0 if available some games won't run if you set it to 0.

a lower value will decrease input lag when vsync is on but it might also decrease your minimum framerate (not always though).

i always set this value to 2 it's the best of both worlds, when i had a dualcore i used to set it to 1.

i kinda came to a conclusion that this value should be half the available cores, dualcore set it to 1, quads set it to 2, six cores to 3 and eight cores to 4.

i think this is the optimal configuration and one that provides a good balance of control and smoothness without overloading the cpu cycles.... or i might be completely wrong :D

You cant change the triple buffering for DirectX with the NVidia driver settings.
    That setting is for OpenGL.

You need to use a tool to do the job, NVidia Inspector should be capable.

The General strikes again, he's famous here (not for the best)

Talking about this drivers, i can say that the pink screens are fixed, saw performance gains in alan wake, skyrim even in Shift 2 unleashed (little but there are), great drivers

Pathetic in the context of powering a High End System only. Iam using the same Antec Basiq 430 watt in another system with Core 2 E6600 and nvidia GT240. It has more that enought power to OC my E6600 and GT240 without issues. It should work good with your GTX 550Ti as recommended 400-450 watt PSU.
