Well your right and wrong, you wont get tearing with normal vsync period, FPS is capped at your refresh rate i.e 60hz/fps and when it drops below the rate will be halved i.e 30fps then you see some stuttering because of low fps, not tearing.

Adaptive vsync is the same as above only when your fps drops below your refresh rate then vsync is turned off, so you get tearing but your fps doesnt drop to half of the refresh rate, i.e 59, 58, 57fps instead of dropping straight to 30.

Also depends on the monitor as some sync with the gpu fine and no need for vsync, i used to be in this situation untill my first GTX card (275 i think) then i always need vsync.

hope that wasnt too patronizing :)

    Hi PirateNeilsouth.

Was that with this driver, or the previous 301.10's.

    Thank you.

Okay people, can someone else try whether or not you performance sucks when you enable 8xMSAA in Mass Effect 3? This driver has new AA flag for ME3.

Dunno, haven't put it back in yet. Considering doing it just to test this driver but I figure 1 hardware change for this week is enough after playing musical system configs last week...lol

These drivers work fine on my system, never have any drivers issues anyway, why is that?
