I was pissed when Stark died. Made a big ass bridge in Minecraft the Otherday, spans an entire ocean and has a automatic minecart system on the other side, meeting at an oil-rig style castle in the middle. I named it the Eddard Stark Memorial bridge. Sean Bean never lives...
just watched season 1 , totally awesome series. usually im not really hooked to series, but this is quality stuff.
That is still only autumn... Winter won't be here until "The Winds of Winter". Who knows when he'll release that one. And yes, I was one of those who waited for A Dance with Dragons for FIVE YEARS. (Plus the year he predicted).
The story moved forward incredibly fast considering how long the first book is, it's a freaking awesome rendition of the book so far. Don't worry, the pace will definitely start to pick up soon as all the characters start moving away from each other Also, dragons
The series spans 9 (planned) books, so it's going to be awhile before the sh** hits the fan,namely book 3, the second book being the build of armies.
I have been enjoying the series. Seriously shocked when they cut out Sean Bean though. Good battles, lots of blood and a guaranteed next few seasons. Stretch it out! I'm along for the entire ride.
They could seriously gonk it up, with the third season. So long as they are willing to dole out the cash for the increasing demands of the series (AND NOT STRAY FROM THE BOOKS MUCH!) and are dedicated to keeping the series focused on the characters, they can keep it going. It will be incredibly difficult and expensive, but if anyone can do it, it's HBO.
I think they made some awesome(opossum) changes to the books with season 1. Examples: Moon door (of course it should be in the floor!!) Tyrion slapping Joffrey (the devil) THREE times. (Anyone seen the 10 min long youtube video of him getting slapped? Muahaha.. Baelor Not today. The way Drogo was wounded. Oh yeah, and for Season 2, the rename of Asha. Thumbs up for the fact that they started filming season two TODAY!!!
I too absolutely loved this series! Watched the first 4 episodes in one night....didn't get much sleep for work at 4am, haha. Then after my shift I watched the last 6! Great production value, great acting from all, great story! I can't wait to see what happens...gonna have to go buy the books now! Also, another woot for season 2 filming starting today!
HBO will rely on future DVD sales as well, so they invest in fantastic production. God, they do a good job!
I really want to read the book but my local Library's 23 copies are all out and the waiting list is HUGE! I tried getting into the show but I just can't get my head around Sean Bean's Sheffield sleaze (sorry if you're from Sheffield). My best mate and I call it "a game of boobies", lol Anyway, I know it is awesome and I will try to digest the story, at least in the book! I want to read the whole song of Ice and Fire saga at some point!
I thought it was fair at best. I'm reading A Clash of Kings right now and they deviated a lot from the book. Cercei slapping Joffrey and threatening Bailish had me scratching my head. Anyone who has read the book would know what I mean.
Well worth buying the books. Series lets me down in a few areas. Really dissappointed with Tyrons whore. She should be more whorish... the casting was disappointing for my mind. Chataya was a Summer Islander, unfortunatly not so in the series. Also Dragonstone was a bit of the let down. Couldn't imagine any beaches considering its a volcano popping out of the sea.
