Hey guys I just got a new Asus xonar dx and got it set up, it sounds amazing and works perfectly fine, and that is until I start playing a game or when the gpu goes under load, I myself dont hear anything but when I am in a call on skype or record my voice during the gameplay there is a very annoying buzzing sound which starts to occur and when there is no load on the gpu everything seems to be fine and the sound on skype and recordings is fine, any help would be much appreciated. :bang::bang::bang:
I have the default communication device as my onboard sound and all other audio from my Xonar.... not sure if this helps, depends how you like to have your comms set i guess..
open play devices > recording tab > properties (check those) Fiddle with the Recording and Custom tabs to fix the buzzing and remember to use AEC in ur xonar control panel
Hey everyone thanks for replying, I decided to use my onboard microphone and xonar output so ill have to live with it like this for now
Interesting, i always have had the same problem with my GTX 560 Ti. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrU7a1prnXk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1yZIvdM1E0 Same thing? I have gone through 3 GTX 560 Ti's and they all do it on every sound card but always a bit louder on asus ones.
Hey hahaha didn't know you used this forum too lol, its me off youtube, I commented on your video about this issue.
Are you using a headset and hear that noise? Try disabling Front Panel Microphone that should do the trick.
Monitoring listens for noise when mic is on, try with it on and off, see which you prefer. If you get echoing (hearing your own voice), use AEC.
Yeah, I don't get echoing and I myself don't hear the sound its just everyone else in a voip call with me on skype and vent etc. It is like a buzzing electrical sound i think it may be electrical leaking from the psu which is a big pain.
You will hear it if you tick monitoring and turn the volume up so you hear your own voice clearly then open a game.
Also if they are hearing it could also be this, uncheck the microphone boost in your record button under Mixer tab, click on the wrench thingy to bring it up.
I too have this problem. When running a game there is some noise that others hear in Skype and when I alt+tab to desktop noises are gone. To add try running Folding@Home GPU client and see if that makes it sound even worse. Because if I run F@H and Skype call they can hear my gpu noises even if I have mic muted which is very weird. Haven't found a good sollution for this. Lowering mic volume though makes it less disturbing. Setting mic boost off kinda fixes it but even with 100% volume mic is too quiet. My microphone is a Olympus ME15 Tie-clip Audio sensitivity: -42 db Microphone operation mode: Mono Frequency response: 100-12.000 Hz Output impedance: 2.2 kOhm
I unchecked the microphone boost, although the sound goes away from them my voice goes incredibly quiet so that they cant hear me anymore either.
Lowering volume or turning off mic boost will just make it quieter as much as it makes your voice quieter. My solution was to plug my mic into my second computer and run line out to my main computer using my 2nd computer like a pre amp to bring the mic to line level. My other solution was to use my 8800 GT. I want to wait for the GTX 660 or 670 to come out but since i have started gaming more i don't think i have an option to. =\ Gigabyte did replace the card 2 times (all 3 making the noise still) but straight out refuse to refund it even tho it makes the card worse then my 8800 GT to use in MMO's.
Yeah I see but unfortunately I don't have any space in my room to put my second computer near this one to try and do what you did.
omgz!!! you have a better computer than me and you listen to NSYNC?!?! :O *falls downz* jk :bawl::canada:
