Only if you have an NVIDIA card by using NVIDIA Inspector to add a compatibility flag to the game profile but then it isn't perfect and only works with 16:9 aspect ratios and DX9. Unless AMD add support for the game to one of their CAPs then you'll have to use an InjectSMAA or InjectFXAA mod, though in my experience, neither of them are as effective as MSAA+SSAA/SGSSAA.
the new patch improved performance quite noticeably when moving the mouse, the millisecond pause that used to happend every few secs is completely gone compared to DX9. graphics wise i don't know if they updated anything but i think they applied tessellation to selected objects and bricks, some appear rounder and bricks are more defined, nothing mind blowing but it's cool. DX9 DX11
Could you possibly post larger pictures? as large as you can get? as the pictures you posted for your observation don't show anything
it's probably your monitor or something anyway 2nd image looks less washed out and more defined imo. dx9 dx11
Can't get SMAA working with LA Noire. And forcing AA in Inspector doesn't work. Can DX9 compatibility flags be used for DX11 or are they different?
Forced MSAA+SGSSAA *does* work under DX9 (make sure you disable the in-game FXAA though) but only at 16:9 resolutions such as 1920x1080. It won't work at 1680x1050 or 1920x1200. Sadly, there are no working flags yet for DX11 but considering the game is locked at 30 fps anyway and there's no difference visually between DX9 and DX11 that I could see then you could just use DX9 for AA.
So with DX11 my fps was about 30-40 and I couldn't force Multisampling. With DX9 my fps is 50-60 with 8xQ Multisampling (0x00411245 flag) and SMAA. It does cause a shadow flickering bug which I'm trying to find a fix for. Would prefer to run DX11 but the extra eye candy doesn't seem to warrant the huge fps drop.
What extra eye-candy? DX11 looks absolutely identical to DX9 to me in terms of lighting, texture quality and modelling. I couldn't see any differences. DX11 is supposed to offer performance improvements from the release notes but considering the game is locked at 30 fps I haven't noticed those either!!!
I've been too busy trying to get AA working properly to compare DX9 and DX11 properly. I assumed they added some tessellation. Otherwise the DX11 patch was pointless. Remove 30fps cap: http://www.rage3d.com/board/showpost.php?p=1336772062&postcount=183
Nice one man. Yeah i just grabbed the standard as Im poor this week and every other, think I'm starting to get the hang of it to be honest. I mean who ever said being broke was hard is full of it, just install steam and your away laughing. If your a Jedi, today the Force is with you - If not... well tough ****.
There is NO tessellation in this game as far as I know. The DX11 patch was simply to improve performance that's all.
Finally grabbed this too, thx to Steam madness. This looks awesome compared to the PS3 version i played some time ago, so ... well done. So this 60 FPS cap really works? No broken facial animations?
Uargh! Thx mate, gonna play it like it is. Really love playing it a 2nd time after many months, good think is you forget details about certain cases. Shootouts are so much better with KB & M.
