the official patch post.

great changes but also great new mini map and commo rose.

 

this update is for the ps3. we wont get it until later.

 

The changes are for all version and the new mini map and commo rose is pc only, also patch should still hit pc next week.

 

oh. then i must of read that article you linked wrong. it swore it said ps3 gets the patch first.

 

What makes you think that PC/Xbox are getting this patch next week? The delay has to be part of agreement with Sony getting first on all contents so it must be intentional and hence probably at least a week long.

 

That's not the reason for the delay..you realise pc is already is one patch in front of ps3? sony doesn't care.

PC patch can release when every, but if its not ready its not ready, they are still aiming for next week.

 

So was that just a typo fix when the first announcement said PS3 and PC on 27th only to be changed into PS3 on 27th and PC getting bundled with Xbox to "soon" status? (not being sarcastic)

I didn't know that PS3 was a patch behind. That's pretty lame in its own way.

I've already done this many posts back, detailed listing of what was substantial in expansion packs, booster packs, and DLC for the battlefield franchise (well, BF2 vs BF3 at the least) and the cost for them, considering the fact that this is the battlefield 3 post, i'm staying on topic by posting about them

I guess though i'll post it again, except i'll add info in for you since you requested more info:

BF2: Special Forces - expansion pack

Price: $29.99 - Lets take this as the base, as this was an expansion pack, so it is "100%", and to make it simple i'm going to go by maps, as maps are the major thing in this game that has actual replay value, if someone else wants to factor in weapons and vehicles, feel free, i don't have the time nor the patients to do so

BF2: Euro Force - boost pack

BF2: Armored Fury - boost pack

(more then likely 14.99 like before) - I'm not touching this one as it hasn't been released we don't know the price but it'll more then likely be 14.99, most people probably will say it does not bring the same amount of replayable content over as the other DLC, and to a degree, i understand that, but if it is 14.99, and it has 4 maps, by all technicalities, it'll have 4 different experiences with 4 different replay values which is the same as B2K DLC

And to compare BF2 to the expansion pack for how much content it had


Battlefield 2 - base game

all the DLC and boost packs have gone the same route in percentages, if someone wants to compare the weapons and vehicles in that feel free, however the maps are the biggest object there so unless you want to wait the scale of each ones and do a very complicated math problem for something that in reality no one cares that much about, those are the simplest points

 

Not so much a typo as jumping the gun a little, the pc patch was all ready for Tuesday but it seems a bug was found, if its fixed in time then we could be back on for Tuesday (fingers crossed)

also yes the last big patch the pc got neither ps3 or xbox got they are both 1 patch behind pc.

 

@aura: Yes I saw that post of yours. There's still no source though and it only lists add-ons for Battlefield 2.

Sadly constructive threads get instantly thrown to page 5 with all the random **** people are posting on those forums.

 

You mean the symthic one I linked? Yeah, it's incomplete but it's still very useful because it has actual values.

If you look around on that forum someone even made bullet spread pictures for all the guns with various attachments (a strange thing was, it had M27IAR and RPK74 had heavy barrel option... not sure if that was the diagram maker's oversight or what.

Or were you talking about something else because then you lost me.

 

RPK with heavy barrel would be nice.

hey guys i'm replaying bf3 on hard difficulty and this freaking operation guiilotine or mission 5 is really giving me a hard time and i had to replay the fiaking thing so many times. Any tips on what to do? The walkthru just says you need to aim properly and shoot yup that's really helpful.

 

Cover is your friend.

Basically don't rush and make sure your in cover.
