I can only voice a bias. I love Klipsch speakers, I do feel like they have a brighter signature which Yamaha tends to also have (but more in their recievers). I would grab anything Klipsch before Audiovox ruins them and you see a new line of Klipsch products in Radio Shack and racer boi Honda Civics. Yamaha is respectable enough in the home audio world but I associate them more with recievers and such, and Klipsch more with speakers. I don't know if that helps.

That 12 inch sub, would run circles around even 3 of those Yamaha subs... I highly recommend a 12 inch sub, because it's going to produce much deeper bass, and punchier too. You see, 8 inch subs just physically cannot get anywhere near as low as a good 12 inch sub... regards, RagDoll.
buying the yamaha sub i put on the z5500 sub on my receiver it lifted the roof neighbours where complaining so just gonna buy sub to fill in that gap below 42hz.
Mainly hear it only during movies. anyway i'm thinking off adding a second subwoofer since my onkyo supports 2 subwoofers.
Gonna add another yamaha yst sw012 after moving my sub it sudenly sound way deeper like verry deep. placing it right in front off my ps3 and moving the ps3 under the center speaker probaly on the ground or other location
For subwoofers, positioning is a very big deal. You can also try putting it in a corner, this is called "corner loading" and it will help make the bass large and reinforce your low range response. I would read up on subwoofer positioning and find the optimal place to put your subwoofer.
best location is near mains my left being better asuming i put tuba in front off TV aint gonna do that will instead add 2e sub already satified with loudness etc just want to smooth it out now which why am gonna buy 2e sub. with 2 subs only works if you placing them near mains pretty much with towers that can go like 70hz least. anyway moving it from outside the speaker area inside made huge difference even tough yamaha manuel adviced to place it outside dont known why. anyway on pic its 48cm from the back wall like 35cm from tuba when i set my fronts straight sub blended right in asswell before it was like it did't want to blend in. because the way they where pointed bass was traveling away from me instead off towards me.
It definitely depends entirely on your individual setup and room, not to mention your ears. If you've tested it and it sounds better a certain way, then damn what any manual or forum says. Personally, I despise corner loading, but some people dig it. Best thing to do if you're still searching, is to place sub in main listening position, then physically move yourself around the room to find the sweet spot, then move it there. With multiple subs, I suppose I would repeat the process once the other sub is placed, or simply place it in a logical juxtaposition to the first sub?
if i place sub on carpet in mid off all speakers bass is nearly gone or pretty much gone.Anyway their curtains dropping down on right off the sub from floor to ceiling dunno if its able to corner load at all anyway it sound best where its on picture atm with tuba next to it if i move the tuba i dont feel any shaking bassicly dont feel the bass at all. i had my z5500 sub like 10cm off the back wall and side wall with port ofc pointing against the wall :nerd: it was only recently that i found out about it was btw shaking down all the way to 1e floor from 3e floor :nerd: now i known why. so whenever neighbour complains during the day i'll just my sub few cm forward and to the left:flip2: which has't happend yet so far however if had my z5500 attached and volume on z5500 on boost +11 with bass on max and receiver volume to -20 that was enough to make him complain. my house is a old double brick house i hear my neighbour verry loud usualy tough i get the idea often that he never hears me at all.
just got my second sub turning 1 sub on and off i can clearly hear a huge difference lol. the shaking effects now turned into huge shockwaves
