^^clock for clock SB is faster than 1366 quads. which of course means SB is a good deal faster than 1156. If you want to believe your cpu is top dog. go right ahead.

*shrug* I can't even be arsed to look into the validity of that statement as it's completely irrelevant to the discussion.

A S1155 i7 2600K is doubtlessly faster than a S1156 i7 870, every review out there shows as much - I've even linked one to back up the claim.

Perhaps it's time you tried the same?

Heres how i see it, he has 1156, we have 1155. He is trying to justify his purchase by lieing to himself saying his is faster. :)

In 3DMark11, it's about 10% faster if the i7 870 has HT enabled and about 40% faster if the i7 870 has HT disabled.

In WoW, in 1 particular zone I went from 120-150fps to 380-420fps. In 1 particularly graphics heavy fight, I went from 6fps minimum to 24fps minimum. That's based on using the "Ultra" graphics preset. I was actually forced to enable vsync after changing processors.

Since i cant find a damn comparison between the two for 3Dmark 11, i am going to say the 870 is definitely faster. In vantage, which can utilize HT very well, its about 16% faster than the 2400. And obviously 2400 is a fantastic gaming cpu, much better per core performance and many games do not work well with HT. But i was talking overall speed. applications that can actually use all 8 threads will be faster with the 870, like handbrake or w/e. http://www.hardwarecanucks.com/foru...ore-i5-2400-lga1155-processors-review-11.html
