Are you sure the card is not just in a lower power state (2d)? The monitor tab on the phone should match the hardware monitor in Afterburner on the host PC, not the OC settings on the phone or PC as these are only for 3D mode only.

    Hello,
I'm trying to test this feature, but, at each start, the server say "Error starting server : "Le processus ne peut pas accéder au fichier car ce est utilisé par un autre processus" or, in english "The process can't access to the file because is already used by another process".
I have no other soft listening on the :80.
    Log is :
I'm using Windows 7 64b, in french, firewall is disabled.
Thank you for any help, I'm available for any question :)
EDIT : oh, yeah, and, of course, MSI Afterburner is started and functionnal :D

Are you running v1.1.0.0 on the remote server? You should still have the icon in the system tray. Can you right click and select restart server? Does it listen on 80 properly now?

I'm experiencing the same issues. If i change the port the error starting goes away but then i get "request time out" on the ipad app.

Did you edit the network settings in the iPad app to include the new port number?
    <ipaddress>:<port>
    example 192.168.1.2:82

I tried v1.0 and v1.1 both, but the same problem appears.
I just tried to change the port : it work.
I just found the problem : Skype use port 80, and, obviously, windows don't accept two softwares listenning on one port.
The restart wasn't functionnal "An error has occured, see the logs", and nothing in the logs.
Thank you for speaking about port change :D

You should double check your firewall and network connectivity then.

You can verify the remote server is working fine by opening a browser on your PC and going to http://<ipaddress>:<port>. You should get prompted for a username and password indicating the server is running fine and answering.

Mine was "BranchCache Content Retrieval (HTTP-In)" if that helps.

Maybe also try clicking on "inbound rules" then select "filter by group" and look for HTTP. Good luck.

Been using the MSI Afterburner 1.0.1 iPhone App with 2.1.0 MSI AB/RivaTuner and Remote Server 1.0.0.0 and MSIAfterburner.NET.dll 1.0.1.0

I have to say I am really looking forward to a button for the FAN speed "AUTO" option as I find it unusable without this.
    or
even better a "Reset All" button. Profiles would be great also.

Thanks for your work so far.

Reset and profiles have already been added to the latest beta for Android. Auto fan will be added as well. All 3 of these will be included for iOS in the next update.

I have another troubleshooting step for those of you who cannot connect. Make sure that your router doesn't have wireless LAN partitioning set. If you do then there is a good chance that your not going to connect. May or may not affect WIFI to wired but its worth a try.

How to findout if an application is using a Desired port

Iv'e seen some people having trouble with skype and port 80.

Yes, skype listens on port 80, and only one application may bind a listening tcp port per IP address.
But, what if you closed skype, and the problem persists?
Well, some other app might have jumped on the chance and took port 80 to itself!

    So, to find out :

    1. Open CMD (start > run > cmd > ENTER)
    2. Type : netstat -aon | find "80" | find "LISTENING"
    Code:
    C:\Users\eitama>netstat -aon | find "80" | find "LISTENING"
      TCP 0.0.0.0:80 0.0.0.0:0 LISTENING 1616
    3. The last number, in my case 1616, is the process ID of the app to blame!
    4. Type this into the CMD : tasklist | find "1616" (Put the correct number)
    Code:
    C:\Users\eitama>tasklist | find "1616"
    TeamViewer_Service.exe 1616 Services 0 5,508 K
    In my case, team viewer!
    I'll kill it!

    Good luck.

this (previous posts about port 80) is why this should default to some other (unused) port.. '4567' would work just as nice as default and wont interfere with webservers, skype and all the other crap that trys to use port 80..

I agree, there are multiple problems here.
    1. The phone app is custom, there is no reason to use a well-known port like 80.
    Just use something else.
    2. The error message is useless, a tcp port is not a file.
    3. You can catch the Exception from the Socket class and pop a proper error message to the user. If this is a windows only app, and I assume it is as it's written with C# or some other .net language, you can even try and run netstat in the background, and tell the user which apps might be using the port.

There are many ways of making this run better.

    4. There is no general exception manager in the app, causing uncought exceptions to kill the app + the debug info is lost.

Otherwise, after the app actually runs, i was able to get BF3 to run @ 60 fps with mostly Ultra settings, on a single GTX 470 ;)

btw, using the android version on Galaxy Note.
Found another issue, you cannot return the fan to auto-mode from the phone.

This app works over the cellular network too. So using port 80 helps ensure ISPs won't block it and makes it easier to setup the NAT rule on your firewall. Why do you think Skype uses it? Difference happens to be that this actually is a web server and Skype just uses clients for infrastructure and P2P tasks. The port is configurable exactly for this reason, as it should be for any web server.

I haven't seen the error you mention, there is a default handler, and setting the fan back to auto will be available soon.

I would never expose an application with a potential of frying/freezing my computer to the whole internet via port 80 which is scanned so often for exploits and hacks. Even if it's password protected, Hackers are amazing.

This is the exact reason the remote server also has a monitor only mode.

That's fine. If you don't like the idea, then just don't open your firewall and you have nothing to worry about.

I don't use a firewall, the router as a barrier is enough for me.
    I hate firewalls :)
