AMD Catalyst 12.2 Preview Driver (8.940.0 January 20) AMD Official BETA

Only in Crysis 2? check profile as you can now do your own profile and see if somewhere you have not a bug with the exe .

But it is still a preview driver of february one, not sure all are 100% in this one.

 

I tried everything, including CAPS and no CAPS, reducing tesselation in RadeonPro and the AMD 3D Profiles. I don't play a lot of Crysis 2 so I can wait it out until the next driver. BF3 and Skyrim are good performers with this driver so I'd hate to roll back.

Previously my Crysis 2 performance was so good I could play it maxed out in 3D and had better framerates than I do now in 2D. :bang:

 

Use 7-Zip.

 

This driver causes my system to hang on shutdown.
Went back to old driver.

Yes i did all the usually time consuming troubleshooting. Even had to do a restore with Acronis to get my machine working again correctly.

Will wait to see what the March driver WHQL brings.

Aside from the problems I had, BF3 raw good with these drivers. The only problem was hanging on shutdown or restarts.

 

I can't boot to windows after using Atiman unistaller...it must be messing with AMD chipset drivers!! This never happened with DriverSweeper! Well, im back to 12.1 and waiting for a new driver...

Happened to me to when I was prepping for the 12.2...I think what fixed it was hitting F8 at bootup and using last known good boot configuration.

I had used ATIman before without problems I don't know what he updated but I'm not risking using it again.

 

No problems using atiman here. used 6.2 and cleaned the Ati drivers totally also with driversweeper. Now 12.2 is running superb! :banana:

 

For some reason CrossFireX doesn't work correctly with Crysis 2 when using the benchmark utility. CrossFireX works much better when actually playing the game.

 

Not for me, I have benched it with the same program with previous driver releases and scored more than twice as high. I recall playing at around 100fps in game too.

 

The funny thing is that every driver till now suck big time for BF3 on my crossfire 2x6850s, i can play better with my 470gtx that has 99%gpu usage even with a insane overclock on it that reaches 570gtx performance( still 99%gpu usage)...with ati i have crappy fps on crossfire with 50% gpu usage on both cards...bah...im really pissed by the crap drivers they keep launching!:flame2:

For one who also having missing AA/OD issue at 12.2p and his OS is not English version windows 7.
I wonder this is not a fully solution and not sure if it is the only reason of the issue.

Maybe someone want to give it a try if he has win7 ultimate(install and switch to English UI)
or setup up a pure English version windows 7 platform.

I've been having wierd crashes with this driver,

SWTOR AA is now broken (worked fine in 12.1, could be the SWTOR patch though?)

Changing graphical settings in games, or with CCC sometimes causes crashes.

Alt tabbing games sometimes crashes

 

AA can be forced via CCC settings or you can use SMAA or FXAA Injector.

 

installed this one over my 12.1a preview installation (i never clean older drivers) and all is working fine (AA, OD, voltage in AB).

two bugs i have encountered so far:
- vsync in opengl didn't work, so i took the opengl driver from 12.1a preview and vsync is working again.
- poclbm.exe (bitcoin miner) is eating up cpu cycles again.

i'm not really sure if these drivers play bf3 better.

 

Vsync in RAGE does not work with these. Either through in game options or forced through CCC.

 

Has anyone had an issue with youtube switching quality? When I fullscreen on these drivers it doesn't change quality until I click on the seek bar and then it changes. Pretty abysmal but just wondering if anyone else has the issue.
