in the windows unninstaler seem that the caps version are the same that 11.12 cap2, not sure if internally are the same, but the package ver is the same.

can someone confirm that?

7970 in Tri-Fire locks up horribly after exiting any game with these drivers.

 

Well, these are pre-release drivers, so some errors are expected as a possibility. Don't let that put you off trying them out though! and of course, report issues where they are found, like you and others have been doing

 

Tested a couple of hours, not good for me.Choppy gameplay in bf3, skyrim and saint row 3.

I've tried 8.92 to 8.95 drivers and they all break textures with transparency in Amnesia The Dark Decent. All of these textures appear solid instread of having transparency where transparency should be.

 

I've noticed this too, which drivers did you go back to?

 

I'm on 8.92 at the moment. I don't think I can go back any further since I have the new 7970.

 

This one BSODs after sleep, rolled back to 8.94 and its fine.

 

Hi all amd users

My friend bought a new system with a 7970 and i'm going to build it for him tonight.

I worked with hw for years so that is no problem, but i have used nvidia myself for years. (no fanboy or anything i just prefer them for myself so i havent realy followed amd/ati drivers. even recommended the 7970 to him after reading tests)

How is this driver working in bf3? (and some older games like red alert 3 and a few others)
Is it a ok allround problem free driver or should i try to install the latest offical first? Or is it another you reccomend for bf3/7970?

 

DO this with that then it should work with switchable graphics

I appreciate his drivers as well, but this driver was not so good for me, I saw performance drops on all games i play. so I went back to his 8.94 Jan 3. lol it's still Marthand!!

 

Will this hurt my pc? The last time I tried a beta driver, it was 11.12 nov 18th and when I uninstalled it, and reinstalled it, it made my monitor turn all black and blue, causing some kind of massive color defect.

This is what happened and it made me upset. I had to reformat because changing to any other driver caused this.

 

It happens in some specific situations.
Replace the operating system to resolve it.
Its not an hardware issue.
Don't worry

 

That is exactly what worries me. I really do not want that to happen again.

 

i also had this problem there is one way to fix it
first you need to boot in Safe Mode then you unzip the extracted driver "Catalyst" than you go to your device manager and install the specific driver

 

BC2 has the black screen flickering in these. Didn't have it when I used the 12.1's.
