Nvidia: New Driver before the Holidays.

considering at this point there only selling on pc to keep pc fans happy, it not surprising, they dont want to put the effort in to actually developing it for the pc, porting much easier and people will buy it either way.

It the developers and publisher at fault here, if nvidia made all the dev's actually not port the game to the pc the pc goes wouldnt get made at this point.

 

Yeah, I found it odd too, I guess the Geforce and Quadro/Tesla driver teams had to somewhat do their own thing from 275 onwards.

 

Yes because 280, 285 branch failed. They don't want to damage Quadro cards heh

 

tsunami231 true, but they made enough effort, as port or not, Batman AC is one of the best looking DX9 games ever, while also performing very well, it's only the Nvidia added features that are buggy.

So any news about this driver?
I never frequent the Nvidia forums, would be nice to get it on Friday, so we all have lots of free time to test it.

I've been through no less than SEVEN Xbox 360s, which were either exchanged for new ones or repaired (I currently own a newer S model), and I'm on my second PS3 after my original model died and I was forced to buy a cutdown Slim model with fewer USB ports and no PS2 emulation. Still have my launch day Wii though but, to be honest, it has hardly been used over the last three years.

 

Launch Xbox 360 bought in December 2005 lasted 18 months, that was repaired (I consider it my second) but I bought another and sold the original. The new replacement, with an HDMI port, died after a month so I exchanged it at GAME for another which lasted ONE HOUR! Got another replacement, that lasted a few months, so got it changed again. That one is still working now as I gave it to my niece when I bought a new S model with a 250 GB HDD. Don't use my Xbox 360 much these days though except for the exclusive games as I feel both it and the PS3 are starting to show their age compared with my PC.

 

So when they said 'new driver before holiday' I'm pretty sure they were referring to holiday 2012. We got trolled guys X-D

 

On the Nvidia Forums they said they pushed back release as they are working on integrating a fix for the TDR errors. ManualG said early January now.

Yes he said that this driver now, before 24th, won't contain all TDR fixes for 460/560gtx yet.

 

Are there really that many users with TDR problems :\
Maybe I'm taking my 460 for granted lol.

 

He was probably talking strictly about a WHQL release, in which case it doesn't mean they won't release another beta before the holidays.

They had originally planned to re-release 290.36 as WHQL, but as you could imagine that would not have done anybody any good.

 

290.53 has already been out for a couple hours now lol.. just go to the 290 link and change the URL to 290.53.

 

Mind linking? I'm not sure where the "290" link is.

 

any ETA for the WHQL drivers?...this week?
