I would imagine at midnight tonight, well that is when shops like OCUK here start selling AMD cards anyway.

    If not, 5-7am GMT

Let’s keep the console port pish to a minimum please, surely there are more than enough threads about this, not even sure why Rich_Guy keeps bringing this up, as you seem a fair enough guy, but at best it will be ignored, at worst it will derail the thread.

Can't believe everyones going on about it, it was just a joke, wasn't intended to derail the thread, so apologies.

Not true at all. With sufficient resolution you could make pretty good use of the 3GB. That's what I'm looking forward to is the ability to use 5760x1200 in BF3 with decent settings (probably be a trifire setup).

not impressed and totally not worth 549 USD, i guess its gonna take another gen to run bf3 completely maxed out at above 60 fps at all time without having to spend 1k USD on multiple gpu's

Or a tad more mature drivers.

Yeah I'm not overly impressed to be honest. It's not all that much faster in games and even loses out in a few benchmarks to the 580. It just isn't worth the 'upgrade' from my 580, and certainly not at current prices.

Not really super impressed either, but it seems to be on the right track.
I for one will be waiting to see what the 7950 will deliver, and if my spider sense on dodgy drivers was correct.

7970 is slightly stronger in most games compared to the 580, and in some games it's a lot better. so i predict the 7950 will equal the performance of a 580.

power consumption wise it's pretty good no doubt

Thing is for me to give up game profiles and a CC that actually works performance needed to be blistering, and it's mearly quite good. It's a faster card than the 580 for sure but I'm not really feeling the urge to buy it. The 7950 will be the more interesting card depending on price, obviously.

    Excellent review on Guru3D.
(as Usual_the same kind of reviews based on which I had brought my ATI/AMD shares of cards; 2 No x 4850's, 5850 and 11 months ago 6950_2GB_Ref )

    --

But I am personally kinda not feeling up any urge to upgrade from 6950 to either 7970 (or 7950), I would term it as AMD's fault. As the main reason for me to buy the previous generations of cards were features which I can directly tune as an end user and gain visual difference, but the new card doesn't have any perks. Its just raw power and lots of back_end changes.. :(
