I'm trying to make a lil gaming rig, nothing fancy just something that will handle today's games, I'm looking at these 3 cpus and i wanted to know opinions on which is best, why and if theres another i should consider.

    AMD Athlon II X4 631
    AMD A6-3650
    AMD FX 4100

Keep in mind that the max is 120$ and i want the best bang for the gaming buck. Thanks ahead of time :)

The 955 is a pretty damn good CPU. Built a budget machine for a friend around that.

Or you could spend extra 10$ for 965

Unless you're planning a motherboard change, none of the above as none of them will work with your current board. You have an AM2+ board and listed two socket FM1 and one AM3+ CPU's, none of which are compatible with your M4A785-M.

That said another vote for the x4 955.

Phenom II X4 960T is only $110 at newegg and amazon. Chance to unlock to 6 core if mobo supports unlocking.
