I didn't even have to download the official update; all I did was accept the new Terms and then LIVE signed me as it would normally with no further update. My save game is still there too. So is it safe to assume that I have the final version or should I revert to the previous files and let it patch the game automatically?
exe of the leaked update is different from the official update (hash checked) then download the official update! a good evening!
Well ALL settings at maximum this game still brings my GTX 580 SLI setup to it´s knees ? 20 - 25 FPS with DX11 on ... Im gonna wait for a new driver before playing this game :0) Ps. Well no wonder hehe SLI is broken only one GPU is active hmmmm ...
On my GTX480 (clocks <-), on the benchmark with this update i still drop to single digits (weirdly on the leaked update i didn't) and average around 34/35 fps (that's everything maxed including physx on high @ 1080p). The DX11 on this game is still badly broken and simply isn't worth the penalty, in saying that my DX9 with physx on high is much smoother now.
with 32-bit systems is still broken ... There is also written in the notes. I'm running on win 7 64 bits and is playable now, but can be further improved...
Damn, not good. Also the post above just reminded me of something. Since i have broken GFWL in some way, i was just going to install it on my HTPC partition, even thought it might run better as i have very little crap installed on there....then i remembered that is running 32bit W7, and Rocksteady advise you not to run DX11 on anything other than a 64bit OS. Grrrrr, bloody awkward game, i hope Nvidia are sharing the responsibility, and also working on fixing the many issues this game has since they are the ones who put their name all over the game, and likely had their hand in the DX11 implementation.
Just thought i'd post the difference in performance between the proper patch and the leaked patch on my rig. Settings. 1920x1080, All settings maxed except tessilation & physx which were both on normal, 290.36 driver (used these settings as i had a previous benchmark using them). Leaked patch - Min = 22, Max = 72, Average = 45. Proper patch - Min =2, Max = 65, Average = 40. How the leaked patch performs so much better in DX11 for me is a mystery.
First. Hi to all of you! Reading this and other PC forums over the years I have come to the conclusion. That whiners and squealers are killing it. This thread is perfect example. I really hope that next console generation will finish it off. Actually you can reflect that on the whole humane society. Its sad and it wont end well. Now i just want to say to the Rocksteady Studios thank you for a wonderful game and good speed.
I regged just to tell you to F00K OFF back to console section TROLL! Your nick and BS says it all MOFO!
I think the dx11 integration may just end up as a failed experiment in this game a bit like dx10 was in the first Assassin's Creed a few years ago. I can't see drivers or patches making dx11 playable, but I hope they prove me wrong.
Yeah, two extremes, just what we need lol. In a way, i do see where PCElite is coming from, as there is too much complaining for the sake of it in PC gaming nowadays, but while they might shout the loudest, i still believe those people are the minority, and most are more reasonable, and can understand why certain thing are how they are.
So after installing the patch and the newest beta drivers DX11 is actually playable finally. Theres some occasional stuttering but its nowhere near as bad as it was before. I averaged 44fps in the benchmark running 1600x900, medium AA, tesselation/physx on normal and everything else on high.
I think that might be because there are three versions: Steam, other digital downloads that don't require a disc and the retail version which does. I reinstated the original files, popped the disc in the drive (since the game won't launch without it) and let LIVE update the original game with the new patch (which was surprisingly quick for a change). Post-patch the game still required the disc unlike the leaked patch version so I've just backed up the current folder and copied the leaked files back. LIVE isn't complaining as it is signing in fine so I presume I'm running the non-Steam digital download version which doesn't require the disc. The two BatmanAC.exe file appear to be identical anyway in size at 41.4 MB. Works fine anyway though my minimum framerate appears to have increased from 21 fps to 26 fps... which is nice! Got that on the second and third runs but it was 9 fps (eeeek!) on the first. 4xMSAA + DX11 maxed out + PhysX=Normal still feels a little chuggy and even pauses, though nowhere near as bad as before. The same settings but substituting 4xMSAA for FXAA (High) results in a much smoother game even if 40-45 fps feels laggier than it should.
You can still play in the dx9 from start to finish. So there are no game-breaking bugs. Developers will squash those technical "bugs". So you don't have to lose sleep over it.
