I'm hoping the rumours of it releasing during CES2012 ends up being true, as that is supposed to be between 10-13th January, which is perfect for me.

Not 100% happy with this 570 from a hardware point of view, while also wanting to try out AMD out of curiosity due to it being a while, and since i never play games on release day, the Day1 driver issues that some games get will likely be fixed by the time i get round to playing the game.

Should be soon for the 7***, if they are being launched at CES in January, but Nvidia, god knows, as long way off yet for those isn't it.

We'll start to get AMD benches pretty soon I'd say, the usual sources :)

Nvidia's next GPU's we won't be seeing anything until summer at the earliest most likely. Computex maybe (June).

    lol

Posting by some random blogger that quite obviously hasn;t a clue what he's talking about.

We've all seen the slides he refers to, and from those slides, the 7000 series looks like an absolute monster.

So mister Cold2010 - bring your propaganda elsewhere.

    An actual slide was leaked?

Or was this the fake showing the 6970, 7970, 6990 & 590 benched on AVP, Metro 2033, Crysis 2 & BFBC2?..Looked like it was made in MS Paint by some kid..

I was referring to the architectural slides, I have seen no benchmarks.

We could see that coming (just read that article myself!). If they're priced accordingly, nobody will really care. But at the very least it shows they're laying the foundations for the series launch proper.

For the guy (cold 2010) who posted that blog ****, please leave this thread, be my guest.
Continuing with the topic, I don't really care about mobile versions as I will never get a notebook or ultrabook for gaming at all. teyr are not intended for that, nor even optimized to work in that way (no even the ones that got Quadro's or crossfired/SLId cards. thay will always underperform vs desktop and will kill their batteries in no time, so it is quite useless.
Lets focus on the real deal desktop versions.

Some of us are interested in mobile technology, I game only on my laptop so new tech is always good. Yes gaming laptops are designed for gaming (ultrabooks certainly arent gaming laptops), no not on par with desktop versions as you are always limited to a certain thermal profile and power but they can really hold their own these days. Battery is a moot point they are designed to run off the mains (although I game on mine with battery and it lasts 1 1/2 to 2 hours).

You mean both of them, or should the thread be renamed to 7970 :)

    OK, I'll go first.

    I say 110% for 7950 and 125% for 7970 compared with GTX 580 at 1080p

EDIT: I was too generous. Make that 100% for 7950
