well, since i am back on track, a rather silly question. I am trying to get my folding software a bit better tuned for folding, but.. I can find all the info about all the flags in version 7, but should i assign some flags to my GPU slot aswell? or are those always "standard" wu's? My idea would be to get the more difficult foling stuff into the gpu slot, cause they are alot faster at folding cause of there specific "build". Ty 4 replies
my GPU is showing 10k PPD while my i7 870 is showing 13k PPD.....so, I wouldn't necessarily say that the GPU is faster....
let me rephrase, it folds better, but u don't get the extra points "the bonus points" cause it can finish a wu loads faster, but when it starts at 1325 points, it doesn't give bonus so it stays 1325 points. On an cpu slot u get bonus points depending on how fast u calculate it, u can start at 535 points, and with the bonus u end up with 5326 points or so. SO the ppd is better, if u cut out the bonus part. Just my thoughts
at the moment there is no qrb on gpu work unit, i.e bous point can not be had from gpu work units, i don't think there are as many flags as there were on the v6 client i don't no if the advamethods flag works on the v7 client
Fixed. Anyway, as ian has said, GPU WUs don't receive any bonus points whatsoever at the moment, and there are no -bigadv WUs on these.
The most common flags in v6 are available in V7 and you can find the table here (https://fah-web.stanford.edu/projects/FAHClient/wiki/FahControl#Configure1) However, some flags are slightly different and the method to configure the flag is also different.
