Still haven't got this yet!!! LOL... think someone is getting me it for xmas, so holding off buying it.......i wanna play ..... same with bf3....
Well there's a lot of challenge modes you unlock as well. Tracks and challenges not connected to the story mode. Sure they could've baked a way bigger story mode but at least there's more single player content than that 2 hour run.
On the Graphics Menu options turn Shadows to Low or Medium , Hopefully that should resolve your issue.
i installed the game yesterday at last (received my copy a week ago) and i am happy to say that i love the game, no issues at all and the wheel works well. i like the fact they're attempting to tell a story, bit cliche' but i like it and the characters look good (but LA NOIRE simply beat the competition hand down). the 30fps is not a problem at all, game feels smooth and i'm not sensitive. Antialiasing is fine, not perfect but it's very decent, the graphics on the other hand leave a lot to be desired, maybe it's just me but NFS Hot Pursuit 2010 looked better. finally i like the arcade'ish gameplay, pretty similar to NFS 2010 (a game i loved). all in all i'll give NFS The Run an 8/10.
Whoever wants to add me to Race on this game and have some fun heres my Origin / Autolog Nickname: FTRxchispy and we shall have a Blast racing together , thats a promise
Flashing/flickering For me, the sun is flashing when looking directly in it, at an epilepsy-kind of rate. Quite disturbing, can't play it like this. Like Undertaker, I also have a Sapphire Radeon, an HD 5770 overclock edition, with Catalyst v11.11. Neither Catalyst or Origin report an update. Come on guys, are AMD/ATI and EA both waiting for each other to fix this??
What do you mean antialiasing is fine? There is no antialiasing at all 0o. The game looks horribly jagged (overall im not impressed with the graphics, im just glad that for one time they use an engine with decent performance)
yes there is, its called PostprocessAA like by BF3 (low, medium, high -3) This is at ultra present; AntiAliasingPost 3 FullscreenScreen 0 MeshQuality 3 ShadowQuality 3 EffectsQuality 3 TextureQuality 3 except real MSAA like by BF3 is disabled and can't be forced, if you do then engine resets itself to default high/ultra settings. AntiAliasingDeferred 0
So that is enabled when everything is set to ultra? It still looks horrible. The fxaa injector really makes a difference. It's still not as good as in bf3, but a lot better than the standard ultra settings.
exactly horrible is a big word mate, the game looks good actually (at least on my pc), as for the jaggies, the masking effect is more like a 2x Quincunx AA, not perfect but much much better than no AA at all. and i'm not even using a big resolution, only 1650x1080, if you see lots of jaggies then something is wrong, maybe it's a setting, drivers or something else. the fxaa injector makes a difference indeed but it blurs textures a bit more, personally i prefer the ingame built postprocessing AA, but that's a matter of personal preference. regardless, i love NFS The Run.
How many jaggies you notice have a lot to do with pixel density, distance from monitor and how good eyes/contacts/glasses you have. I'll agree with them finding NFS:TR to look horribly jagged. MSAA please
Please read post # 503 to reslove your isssue , maybe a patch its in the works to fix thisproblem with shadows , its happening with both ATI and Nvidia , so its not an ATI isolated problem , Try this meanwhile to fix the flashing textures " On the Graphics Menu options turn Shadows to Low or Medium , Hopefully that should resolve your issue. "
flashing sun I found a "solution" to the flashing sun problem: setting full-screen mode to "off" (advanced display settings) fixes it... until a real fix comes out... (setting all graphics options to "low" did not help, thanks tho.)
Im Glad you got it fixed , now go enjoy this awsome Game , Once you unlock all the Cars thats where the fun really Begins.
I've found a solutions for flashing texture and flashing sun... you just need to turn all settings to low or medium, well it's not completely solve the problems, but at least you could run it better...
You guys who've been snooping around with HEX editors and in cfg-files and such, did you find any hint of being able to completely turn off the HUD?
