Modern Warfare 3 (Official Thread)

It has to be easy to get into for the masses of casuals and newcomers to be fun. On the other hand its numerous combinations of perks, weapons and game modes allow for some "advanced tactics" if you want to use them.
It's supposed to be fun. Other games may show more "depth" right away but they also scare people off much easier.
You can play this as a single person or you can use a team and be very successful, there's always a choice.
If you have to "work" to get into a game, if you have to have all the fancy unlocks to make if fun, if you have to have your buddies back you up to succeed... well that can be fun also but it's not as convenient and nothing for the masses of players out there.
At a certain age, time becomes precious If you need too much of it to have fun with a game it doesn't work well for the "older" crowd (just like the ADD youth, what a mess).

 

i love this game the way it is. when the SKYRIM was a bit boring to me last night. played 2 rounds of MW3 fast. i was directly into the action. not waiting tank, chopper or objective rushing etc..direct pure FRAGGING... then clsoed the game and started SKYRIM ..

MW3..fast and furious..lol.simple and fun.

 

^^Yeap.....i spent over a hour yesterday on one level, but i'm playing it on vet so you have to make sure when you stick your big fat head out its not shot off in two hits. LOL

But enjoying the single player immensely.

 

There you have it, MW titles are the hamburgers & hot dogs of the pc gaming scenary now. You dont have much time, you go for fast food, everyone does it but hates to admit it.

 

Mw3 isnt cpu demanding like Black Ops right?

 

Well, it runs perfectly on my rig (1920x1080) at max settings, and it looks awesome. So it deffo ain't very gpu demanding! Sonic Bloody Generations runs worse!

I haven't got the time for games like Elder Scrolls, I would rather thrash it out than sit for hours developing a character. I have three kids and a woman that requires the use of the TV now and again, bless her. I like to pick a game up, be transported into a plot like an action movie, and kick arse. God Of War and Shadow Of the Colossus being classic examples.

 

Could somebody tell me what happended to Hardcore HQ?

 

I'm waiting for an update myself. No fun without hc hq Kill Confirmed and Team Defender are nice additions, just as the 4 vs 4 Team Tactical, but hc hq is what I'm waiting for also.

Well they had playlist updates shortly after the release of MW2 so I hope they'll do the same now.
HC HQ always had many players, more then some of the SC lists like CTF for example, so I simply hope they come up with a good update rather sooner than later.

 

Having a blast in single player no issues either

 

The game is completely unplayable right now because of the Stealth Bomber exploit, I've played 6 games today and someone was using this glitch in 5 of them. I'm just not going to play until it's fixed.

Yep.. its pretty much this reason why I gave up on the MP after MW1. I had a whole list of servers I would frequent and people I would play with all the time.. made for much for fun and you always knew you'd get a certain level of performance.. that and if someone was being a douche you'd have an admin much of the time or at least someone who would have the auth to boot/ban people.
The way it is now is such a huge step back.. people who got into the game from MW2 onward wouldn't know any better unless they had played MW or older COD titles, but for people that did I can't see how anyone would prefer it with matchmaking system over dedicated servers. This ended the series for me singlehandedly. Nevermind the fact that now there appears to be far more hacks and cheating going on.. meh I'll pass.

Real shame too because I love these types of run and gun games, and COD does put out a great action game, but some of their choices implemented in the past couple iterations have been brutal.

 

just finished it in veteran, must say it was the greatest COD i played to. i did both BF3 and this one at the same time, must say even if BF3 was a new benchmark for GFX, the campaign had NOTHING versus MW3. my gosh what a blast.

Black Ops. If you don't want to be shocked at least Sadly there aren't that many players left for multiplayer, one reason being the release of MW3, the other being the monthly cost for servers.

 

Ditto....the Single player was rollercoster of a game, and no wonder, one of the writers of the game was Paul Haggis of casino royale bond fame.

10 hours on vet , and now i will run through it again collecting all the intel and steam cheevos i missed first time round.

 

They are already banning people for it, i read on the steam forums.

 

^^^Yeah i have read that on the steam forums and a few other places that banning has already stared on MW3, and I'm all for it, I don't care if you use a ingame exploit that's been left there by the devs or play with a hack and aimbot...If your deliberately ruining other people's experience a then you should be shown the door permanently
