I have been using my 640MB e-GeForce 8800 GTS for 4 years 9 months and 20 days!!! WOW time fly's!! I've had my graphics card for almost 5 years according to the EVGA website!! Looking for an upgrade and would like to know which mid-range graphics card to buy that will run Battlefiled 3 at medium/high and my budget is $150.00. I'm posting this in the General hardware section to see if there are any good deals from ATI/AMD/NVIDIA BTW I'm very confused by AMD's numbering system...
150$ is quite low, you'll have to throw in some more money. 150$-180$ gets you a GTX 560 (non Ti), AMD 6850/6870. I'd recommend getting the 6870.
Still recommend the Radeon HD 6870 or the GTX 560 (non-Ti). I got the Radeon HD 6870 over the GTX 560 purely based on the fact my local retailer had a sale and XFX had a rebate for their cards. deltatux
Yeah, I might do that instead.. Last time I went cheap on a graphics card I ended up with a FX5200 :bang:
Couldn't resist yourself could ya...HaHa...Hope you got a EVGA...They seem to last for you...Enjoy the new toys...
EVGA GTX560 1G and a Acer 23” Sticking to EVGA since my EVGA 8800GTS has run flawlessly over the years. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814130660 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824009255 I've had the same 17 inch display for 8 years.. Time for an Updrade
Gratz! One frind also has GTX560 (non Ti) and it's a good card, runs games well and so on. Have not heard any complains about it.
if you are not willing to spend more money, i can tell you for experience that I can run with my setup (athlon II x4 640 @ 3.45 + amd 6850) BF3 in single player with all setting in ultra except for MSAA (and I removed motion blur too). It looks awesome and gives me from 30 (min) to 70 (max) fps in any scenario. look this guide: http://blogs.amd.com/play/2011/10/31/your-personal-mini-guide-for-battlefield-3/ hope it helps !
It's updated!! Thanks guys for not letting me get the 550 TI... I can play 1080P at 40-70 FPS with my new card at high settings no AA. Very stoked with everything so far.
I was going to take a picture inside of my case but the wiring is a huge mess and needs some TLC. Here is a picture of my Desktop tho.. Having a widescreen monitor is beneficial for BF3 :biggun: Hopefully I can start repairing my Kill to death ratio..
