Painted the engine bay... but I've decided the car is going to be white now so it's got to be done again. At least I didn't waste any time colour sanding and cutting it in I suppose.

Radiator support just about ready for paint, it took 4 days to grind all the rust off this b*stard!

That looks... quite similar to a VW.... almost like a Golf/Scirocco hybrid?

the normal one (fiat grande punto) has been out since mid 2005 i think or even 2004 the Abarth Grande punto has been out since 2008, theres not a lot in common to the original car apart from the engine(although this has a bigger turbo) steering wheel and rear seats and other more mechanical things. It's wide track over the standard fiat and lowered 10mm and like my pic's above, it has brembo's

suspension needs doing though as its a bit rubbish

Fiat know how to make a nice nippy hatchback :D

    Looks better than the golf/scirocco.

Aircool: Eeeh..... i quite like the Scirocco. That Grande Punto is nice... but just about everything else i've seen from Fiat is kinda "meh" worthy.

dont get mixed up between abarth and fiat, the quality it 10x that of fiat in terms of finish and attention to detail, also customer service makes vw and bmw's look poor

Rarely has Fiat made something Meh worthy unless that just my taste/euro taste imo.

You mean you dislike it so much, that fiat rarely rises to the 'meh' level?
    or
You like it so much that it rarely falls to the 'meh' level?

As much as I don't like tall weak FWD econo boxes 'masquerading' as sports cars - light weight really does a lot for feedback and enjoyment.
A car that's bumped around by the asphalt lets the driver feel more connected.
It's great fun, esp with a manual, to flog a crappy car down a winding road.
The tyres squeal, the body rolls, the engine screams and strains... and you're hardly going over the limit to boot (no straight-to-jail police stops, just a simple ticket at worst.).
It's great fun. It really lets you maximize your drive.
(Which is also why I so highly recommend lotus for a fun daily driver (awesome feedback) ... for those not picky about creature comforts).

But fun aside, if you want to get a car that actually performs, for a not-insane price, you're better off looking at the new mustang 5.0, or new zl1 camaro, and probably the new supercharged genesis coupe (although I haven't seen anything about it yet).
Or the ever capable evo/sti - which are available used for decent prices.

It's worth keeping in mind that the cars built to hit high top speeds, usually feel slow when driven at legal speeds. Chassis stability is a double edged sword.
