Remember to do a complete purge before installing AMD drivers. I thought it was always okay to install over previous ones until I ran into massive problem after massive problem.

Uninstall the current drivers, wipe the remnants with a cleaning program then install the new drivers. It requires a few reboots but trust me it's worth it. A crumb of effort to prevent a ton of headaches.

Does anyone know whether this fixes the CF issue in RAGE...that issues being that it does run the second core?

I get the odd slow down in Rage with my 5970 ... runs at 60FPS and drop to 45-55 fairly frequently.

Rage still crashes with OpenGL Triple Buffering checked on in the CCC panel. Too bad.

    Game does run well though.

with the new 11299 opengl driver i can finally use the 8K texture setting, but game is still unplayable. still have to use 98/Me compatibility setting for rage.exe or the game crashes on load/save and it runs with about 2 fps after a few seconds of playing (no rageconfig.cfg used).

tested with : rage (without cfg) , fifa 12 , crysis 2 , the witcher 2 , nfshp .. runs great no problemes so far
dont use "triple buffering" in ccc or rage will crash !!

Did you try placing the atioglxx.dll into the Rage directory? That worked for me.

FYI there is a reason why textures render slowly on AMD hardware.

I love it. I have perfect vSync 60 FPS with the in game options. I don't see why you are complaining about Always On Vsync if the in game option works perfect.

Although an odd bug that whenever I alt-tab out of the game, the vSync has to be reset in game after. But it definitely works, flawlessly while playing.

This driver fixed rage freezing problems on my HD 5670. Before the game was unplayable - freezes every 3 seconds, now it runs smoothly.

Cinebench 11.529 x64 is working fine here. GPU Caps also confirms OGL 4.2.

I had a look at some of the files (like atikmdag.sys, aticaldd.dll, aticaldd64.dll), even though the file versions have remained the same at least some of the other components besides OpenGL have changed. They aren't bit identical!

Idiots. Why didn't they write their transcoder in OpenCL? If they started to mess with OpenGL.
