I ask a moderator if it´s ok to post a bios here. If afirmative i can post mine...
I may be wrong but if the computer boots with the unlocked bios, load windows extract your current bios with RBE save it, move the switch to the other position(the one that have a briked bios) and flash de BIOS you have just extracted with RBE.

you could allways copy your first bios
switch your likkel switch back to the naughty position
    mod the saved bios file
re flash it to the second bios on the card

When i load it into RBE i cant mod it to 6970 cuz its grayed out and RBE says its a 6990 card i have.. but its not.

So i would love to have your modded bios. ( you can mail it to me ) Patrik_vbg@hotmail.com

Tried to do this but mine simply gave me a BSOD upon booting.

    If anyone is interested

    Bios Version String 113-1E1862X-S44
    AtomBios Version ATOMBIOSBK-ATI VER013.012.000.008.000000

    SKU# is 11188-05-50G

Anyone know if this card CAN be unlocked to 6970 stable?
Oh and if someone has the original Bios files that they backed up from the same gpu as mine, Would you be so kind as to upload the bios files from both switch positions? Thanks.

Funny, I have the same card as Modelistis.

Yet mine still shows as 1408 Unified on the switch position furthest away from the Crossfire Connector.

Any idea's if this can be unlocked?

I have the same P/N and SKU on my Sapphire 6950 Dirt 3(ordered from Newegg) box and was able to unlock the shaders by simply moving the BIOS switch as well.

    Okay Guys.

Can SOMEONE here please upload the bios from the following

    SKU# 11188-05-50G

When the switch is in the "unlocked shaders" position please.

I tried to flash mine and when I got BSOD's I ended up reflashing it to the backup HD 6950 bios and lost whatever bios was on the "unlocked shaders" position.

Also can anyone confirm which position unlocks the 6970 shaders? Is it towards the Crossfire connector or Away from it?

I flashed from the position AWAY from the Crossfire connector and I am unsure if I've overwritten the backup bios or the "unlocked Shaders" bios.

    This is the card

I loaded it in and it didn't work :(

Is there any particular method that works best for flashing my GPU?

I just flashed using winflash with Cayman.bin and it still shows 1408 unified shaders with the switch furthest away from the Crossfire Connector.

I really would like to do this so if you can advise anything then please do.

Which works better? RBE or Winflash?

I know my card CAN be unlocked as many here have posted success stories regarding my exact GPU model / revision with the exact same bios.

So far no matter what I do I cant get it showing as 1536 unified shaders :(

Open RBE and extract your current bios with the switch position furthest away from crossfire conector.
Now go to "Aditional features" tab and see if "6970 shaders count" is checked.
If it is checked and your card still showing 1406 shaders in GPU-Z, your card is unlockable.

    My model is 11188-05-50G ....

I don't know if it's relevant but physically maybe we could sort out which cards are unlockable and which are not.

Mine is the 11188-05-20G and when I compare it to the picture on page 3, mine has the upper DVI (dual link) plug white and the lower (single link) black.

    Is it relevant?
