WEI is the best benchmark of all, what you are you talking about? It's even better than the amazing Super Pi.
Defiantly should not be marketed for gaming...........It didnt do too good in a lot of other tests too though.....
I have always used Intel for games and AMD for server builds. AMD server i think is the best for the job and cheaper and Intel builds.
Slightly disappointing, not from a performance point of view, as that looks like it has potential, but considering the price, the delays and the misleading marketing it is. If it was not aiming at Intel's "high end" then it shouldn't of priced it so near to it, as Intel could drop prices to make things even worse, but they really don't have to.
I don't really udnerstand how this CPU can be slower than Phenom 2 in many tests. This is pure fail to me.
Well from September 2003, to July 2006, AMD had the "best" processors. Which is a pretty good chuck of time. They gained a ton of market share during that time too, scoring some pretty awesome deals in the server market and OEM markets. To bad that instead of taking that money and dumping it into R&D, AMD decided to buy ATI.
The interesting thing here is that, what they are counting on to save the processor, marketing it as an 8-core to the masses...actually kills it with us, it destroys our perception of it. I think if you look at the flagship as a quad core with hyperthreading its a lot less of a disappointment, especially where all threads can be used
