I'm looking into buying a new videokaart and I've got my eye on the following:
    560-ti MSI Twin Frozr II
    560-ti MSI Hawk
570 MSI Twin Frozr III Power Edition/OC
    570 Gigabyte OC
    570 Gigabyte SOC

The last two seem to have the same coolers? Or am I mistaken? Also, I have a hard time finding reviews that compare a well OC'd 560-ti to a well OC'd 570. Since I'm planning to OC this is important to me. I find that a well OC'd 560-ti performs at 570 levels, but I've no idea how it compares to the likes of the 570 SOC from Gigabyte (or the amount of headroom on the other 570's I listed). Can anyone point me in the right direction?

an oc 560ti can catch a stock 570
an oc 570 can catch a stock 580
an oc 580 cant be catched by any video card
    if you get a 560ti get a 2gb version
1gb is fairly low by todays standards OR
go for a 2gb 6950/6970 if the price is right, they are pretty powerful cards too

ATI/AMD is not an option, had nothing but driver issues with those cards.

    Lets put it this way:

If I take the 560 which of the posted versions would be best? I read good and bad stories about the hawk, the Frozr version gets only praise.

If I'd take a 570, which version should I take? I probably would go for the SOC, but the OC one looks the same to me except for the clocks. Or is the MSI one any good. I'm especially worried about the power supply, which I read is bad on some 570's causing it to go up in smoke.

MSI GTX 570 TWIII PE/OC --> OC to GTX 580. Should last a while.

But if you play at less than 1080p, then MSI 560 ti twin frozr is fine.

Your 650 xfx is more than enough, take a look at this:
    http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/gigabyte_gtx570_1280mb_soc_edition,10.html

Gigabyte SOC 570 peeking 419W at stock, 489W overlocked.

If you don't want to get the 6950 because it's AMD, then get the gtx 570. In benchmarks you'll notice the 560Ti is on par with 6950 but that extra 1gb vram is getting more and more useful for games like bf3 where my memory goes up to 977mb/1000mb

It doesn't matter which you pick, Gigabyte SOC or MSI TF3, both are great

I didn't mean the XFX psu, but the one on the card. The voltage regulators.

I play at 1080p with no plans to upgrade my screen (this is a brand new 120hz monitor). If I'd play at a lower res I would pick the 560 within the blink of an eye. Now I'm not sure. I am very sensitive to low framerates :S.

Are you pairing your new card up with the CPU & Memory amount listed in your specs? Both cards you have listed are going to be bound by that CPU, and I don't see how you are going to run 1080p resolutions with only 2gb of mem. I ran my 560 Ti on my old E8400 and it was held back quite a bit. Didn't really stretch it's legs until I upgraded to the specs I am at now.

No. Will be an i5 2500k which I will OC (guess it would end around 4-4.3ghz on air?) + 8GB of Ram.

Does Gigabyte cherry pick gpu's for the SOC versions? Which would mean that the lower versions with the same coolers would have worse gpu's (and thus lower oc max)?

^ So it's the best choice because you have it?

I beg to differ. 1GB is fine for a 560Ti, even in 2xSLI mode. If he wants to pay more than a 560Ti 1GB costs, he'd better go with an 6950 or a GTX 570

depends on what OC, 580gtx @ ~850-890mhz is doable with 570gtx but yea at its max OC 900mhz+ and up..:nerd:

    I can beat stock 580gtx in 3dmark2011 @ ~830-850mhz.

My vote goes to MSI 570GTX TFIII OC /PE

well if you read post 4 OP said he does not want amd. 1gb is cutting it close for many games nowadays. If you read what I said, I told him to get the 2gb version if he wants a 560. your right though, if he plays at a low resolution and does not like high levels of aa a 560ti 1gb is enough

thats what I said. an overclocked 570 can catch a bone dry 580

    yes and i said it can catch up to a OC'ed 580gtx @ ~ 850-890mhz..

Post your score at idk your current gpu OC with a single gpu (stock cpu clock and gpu vram clock preferred :p), now if its over 7028 - this is my max max (or ~7150 according to another user with faster cpu) by gpu then yea 570gtx OC can't catch up, if not then yes it can surpass it.

actually, the two gigabytes have slightly different coolers. the standard OC has all fans parallel. on the SOC, the fan on the right is actually angled slightly on the right to blow air off the pcb. the other two fans are supposedly angled the other way to blow air out the rear pcie bracket.

the soc is cherry picked, but they only test it at 845mhz. so theres still a chance it may not overclock too far beyond 845mhz.

my 560ti soc (1ghz) performs similarly to a stock 570 at 1080p. but you wont be able to oc most 560ti's much higher than that.
