i can see all the lamers gonna be askin..

why does WoW only run at 60fps when i have 45 cards SLIed?!

nvidia should be FIXING their drivers before introducing new problems!
i mean i havent been able to run any driver higher than 270.61 without some sort of issue (generally really bad lag, studdering, and the occasional bsod)

:p The limiter seems like a great idea for rpg's, don't see myself using it in fps games though

Not for me,, I have 0 input lag, and always use vsync on

It plays just like my CRT, mouse is not laggy,, 60fps at all times 1080p 8xAA 16xAF high quality all game settings high. From Crysis 2 to UT3 I have 0 input lag ,, but on my cousins LG 2ms , u turn on vsync and mouse is laggy,

Good option for those with hot cards (ie, 480, 470). I used to use vsync with my 470 not for screen tearing, but because it helped keep temps lower. FPS at 30-40 should be a nice limit.

    THIS IS A GREAT OPTION!!!!

Think about it, your PC isnt up to scratch to reach decent FPS with all the bells and whistles turned on and you get horrid stutter or your fps simply likes to spike up and down like a hookers skirt!

With this you can easily cap your framerate at say 30fps for example. Which would allow people with less powerful rigs to max out games with better settings. Yeah sure it not going to be as "smooth" as 60fps or 100fps but still it means people can enjoy most games the way they want too.

    Looking forward to this.

Vsync with triple buffering doesn't block rendering... the next sync cycle always gets the latest rendered frame... you wouldn't get input latency there. But that said, not all games support these options today.

I suppose this option will help a lot for those who suffer from cpu bottlenecking

Great for streaming engine games, capping at around 30-40 fps will make some games smoother. Examples would be wow, gtaiv, witcher 2, oblivion, fallout 3 and deus ex human revolution.

The question is will FPS limitter make fps dips more bearable.
I suspect yes, but it will depend on the engine, and the nature of dips.
If they are very localized, subjective fps should proly feel more fluid.
If they are wide, they are not really dips, are they? And fps will feel as crappy as ever.

What's bugging me is whether it's possible to have a rendering scenario in which fps limiter can raise minimum fps.

Can't wait to try it in RO2 :)

Usually when NV announces something is coming to a future driver it's the one AFTER the one that is coming out in September, could be wrong though but lately I see that being the trend

Sweet! I don't want my GPU to do needless work when v-sync is disabled. 75 FPS it is then.
