    try this
go to nv control panel/change resolution/customize/create custome resolution/tick the timing button/hit the automatic tab/scroll down to manual and select/bring refresh rate to 60.001/tick test then follow the on screen prompts. it should pass the test.

once you apply the custom res, go back into the resolution section and choose your custom res and hit apply. you should now have 60hz.

i had to fix that issue this morning.

    nice ;)

    Optimus is mainly for laptops/netbooks.

afaik something to do with laptops/netbooks that feature Intel + nvidia, it allows the netbook to switch to the intel on desktop and nvidia for gaming seamlessly and controls the power states and clock speeds.

    http://www.nvidia.com/object/optimus_technology.html

desktops don't need this and can be removed safely.

I think that no matter what they do, people will complain that their specific issue wasn't fixed. While it seems like nobody uses 3D, it's probably the same number of people looking to play the BF3 alpha and just so happen to have SLI, too. If anything, I'd say that's a pretty obscure thing...but I'm sure it sucks for those people who do.

I'm more surprised that Nvidia hasn't boosted performance with the Witcher 2. That's a pretty major release, and a pretty demanding game.

hi there infinity, i find your information very cool and all, yet i must admit, to be able to read you i must first quote you, due to the colors in your fonts, may i ask you politely to change to the default black values, its so easy to read like that, thanks.

This driver is all about fixes. Especially the ones they previously introduced.
But, they fixed a lot of things, like SLI scaling for Shift 2 and Dungeon Siege 3.
They fixed the performance regression in BFBC2 and the game runs better than ever.
Also, DA2 is now bug free and runs a lot better than before.

These spikes appear very normal to me. Call me crazy but I have had spikes in GPU usage with every video card I have ever used in a GPU accelerated O/S like Vista-Win 7. Granted not 100% usage spikes but there should be some activity on the GPU. As long as it stays in power saving mode and your system doesn't lag I would say this is normal. Could even be polling related.

On topic I can't wait to get home and try these drivers. Using on my work XP rig and they are working fine, although I don't game on this 7300 GT :puke:

One of the things I hate about pc gaming is when a new game comes out that you always have to wait months for drivers to be optimised and get decent performance and by that time you have finished the game and its gathering dust on your self :bang:

BF3 crashes are more or less gone, I played 4 rounds before I crashed, was previously every 2-5 mins so I can live with this, big difference.
