Someone, with 58xx card, notice like a circle around the player, sometime evident on 1st level on white ground?

    re:

Here, the game's running @ 20-40fps in ultra mode, 1360*768, 4X AA, for my spec, I'm really in love with it...

A friend that has the Xbox version went crazy after seeing the image quality here... Remembering, my monitor is a 26'' Full HD LCD TV. ;)

Can you enable normal AA for this game instead of EdgeAA?

What would I do with these?

    **r_UseEdgeAA = 0
    **r_PostMSAA = 0
    **r_PostMSAAMode = 0

One GTX580 gets 46.5 in Central Park bench with the exact settings.

The AMD 6000 cards are rendering tesselation through Shaders, that's why 5000 series are identical or even better in some cases (HD5870 vs HD6970).

The AMD 6000 cards have a dedicated unit for tesselation which is not being used at all in Crysis 2, that's why the performance sucks so badly for us AMD 6000 users. :(

But the CatalystCreator at Twitter says they'll fix it with a CAP this week.

AMD don't do tesselation through shaders, that's Nvidia way.
Peformance problems could be related to drivers or weak tesselation units.

Exactly, and that's the main problem as of why AMD 6000 cards are performing half of Nvidia equivalents.... :)

No, it's the way hardware was designed. Nvidia have dedicated shader to do tesselation and AMD have separated units to do the same thing.
AMD units are fixed, so if too much tesselation is going on, they can bottleneck the rest of the card.
The API won't make distinction between both modes.
I had a 5970 and I know how crap tesselation performance was. Just download tessmark and look how crap performance is when tesselation is beyond 16x.

Trust me, that's not the problem here...

But whatever, I'll wait for the CAP's. :)

this is your own opinion or do you have some link to demonstrate this?

It is just my opinion, but I have seen many other people mentioning it on some other forums.

The Adrenaline Crysis 2 bench tool is not working right with crossfire. There needs to be an option to force r_MultiGPU=1

Using the bench tool my gpus are at 60% each. Without the tool and ofrcing the command their 100% each.

After playing this game for a couple more hours, I decided I have to buy 2 more Gigs of RAM... LOL!

More likely running out of video memory that is causing the stutter not system ram.

Everybody knows ATI 5000 series has a tessalator weaker than Geforce's. But it's also true AMD 6000 series improved the tessalator performance by a lot and it's now banging on Geforce's door.

Anyways, I don't give a damn about Tessalation; in fact, most games out there don't even use it at it's full extent.
Right now, it isn't worthy to move from a HD5970 to a GeForce GTX580 - or to HD6990 for that matter -, just because of DX11 Tessalation performance - and PhysX, in GeForce. For what? To bench 45 FPS instead of 40 in Crysis 2?
I play many, many games, not only Crysis 2 and Metro 2033. And even so, Crysis 2 and Metro 2033 runs very smooth here.

    Well said, bro.

Let's not forget that C2 will run a whole lot better after AMD gets those new drivers online. We cannot readily compared C2 since Nvidia could get their hands on the DX11 version before the release.

I think such kind of exclusivity hurts the PC gaming industry more than anything. Hopefully, they'll realize it without reading this post.

Games have just started using tessellation, full extent is far away ..and so is the hardware. Two or three generations ahead maybe, and hardware will cope with full extent of tessellation (which is not that needed, in my opinion).

CatalystCreator: For Crysis 2 DX11 CF performance - we actually have pretty good scaling, so no new CAP is needed
For Crysis 2 - make sure the PostMSAA setting is removed from the games autoexec.conf file - it's causing bad CF scaling
The Crysis 2 PostMSAA is just a config tweak - it won't disable AA

So wait, what do we do then? My performance is CRAP. :(
