New GPU PhysX benchmark was revealed today – it is showcasing APEX integration and hardware accelerated PhysX support in upcoming online TPS game called Mars, developed by Epic China in Shanghai. Mars is the first China developed online shooting title, based on Unreal Engine 3, and is supposed to offer player fresh PvP and PvE experience, vibrant graphics, customizable avatars and weapons.

its crap without physx and runs like crap with it enabled, poor 2.8 physx sdk code cripples everything, not efficient at all. And it doesnt look good with it enabled either :wanker:

    //end of rant

it would have been much better if they build it around physx 3.0 :nerd:

Modded PhysX doesn`t seem to work here, at least not with my setup (1.04ff with FW 260....blah) just getting an average FPS of 20 and it says CPU PhysX. But in Fluidmark or Mafia 2 GPU PhysX does work... so I dunno.
I am using a 275 GTX for PhysX by the way.

    Cheers!

I confirm that performance is unworthy of our hardware

Its a shame that nvidia and the devs cant get physx to run propely on current day hardware. Its embarrising, hope they scrap physx alltogether and make a open free for all physics, that works with all hardware. Physx sux bigtime, nothing good has come out of it. Only game that did it properly was Mafia2, and that was with my hd5870+9800gt. The game runs badly with nvidia as main gfx gpu?? Lol...

    Same here with 6950 + GTS 250.

Edit: Apparently it works for some people.

    Meh... Averaged 24FPS at 1920x1080 2xAA enabled.

It was okay to look at, but I found it... Clunky? Yes. Clunky. Like it wasn't polished enough is how it felt to me.

With no Physx, the invisible explosions made it seem strange.
With physx, a bit better, but i wouldn't buy this.

Yeah, its a pretty crappy benchmark anyway.

Not optimized for CPU or GPU, so pointless either way, no idea why Nvidia puts their name to stuff like this.

yeah! :) I got only 16fps avg on GPU physx enabled after APEX legacy files deleted. but I recommend that you try to test Star Tales benchmark (you look this section). :)

Why is it with physx disabled there is not any explosions or debris at all? just soldiers being thrown through thin air?

you need geforce 8 (min 32 cores) or better card for enable GPU physx but any radeon card hasn't physx support yet.

Ok... I see alot of complaining. As soon as I get this massive physx benchmark downloaded, guess I will see for myself.

I can't find any mention of this Mars GPU PhysX Benchmark on nVidia's website or the new Geforce.com website. Where's it located @ on the nVidia / Geforce website exactly? I looked under demos, games, apps, tech demos, etc.. did not see diddily squat!

w00t.. download finished. Gonna check it out then come back and whine with everyone else :nerd:

Ok.. I ran the benchmark, average fps: 48.3 fps
max settings, 32x AA, No PhysX

Then, same settings, with PhysX on: 27.1 fps

I guess it only works best with 275.50 beta drivers as its mentioned in that release.
