Wow what a f***ing waste of time these betas were. I had hoped they would fix the crysis 2 weapon/shadows flickering bug. It seems like they did nothing at all to advance functionality. What a steaming pile of $%@! and a waste of my time >_<

They are aware of the Crysis 2 issues I believe and I'm sure I saw somewhere that those fixes as well as others will be included in the next 276.xx (280.xx?) WHQL release next month.

The release notes mention that some Crysis weapon textures are missing when using DirectX 9.

Right now I think most of their driver team is working on the 280.xx branch of drivers.

    GeForce 275.50 beta is [r275_37-16]
    Quadro 275.36 WHQL is [r275_21-17]
    GeForce 275.33 WHQL is [r275_21-12]
    GeForce 275.27 beta is [r275_21-3]

I really hope that new whql 280 set or whatever everybody talks about, they say most of the gaming issues will be fixed including that windows 7 boot logo artefact, and witcher 2 performance, and crysis 2 bugs, i really hope, i don't want to wait another month, or a month and a half to see a changelog of the 280.xx and nothing special, or in mine problems, and others.

If they're so similar to 275.33 then why do the new 275.50 beta's lose me a 1000 points in Vantage when compared to the last WHQL?

I'll skip these considering they are really close to the WHQL set with limited changes.

So for me the colors looks really better with 275.50 beta.
A few less points in heaven, which is not so bad.

GeForce 275.50 vs Quadro 275.36 vs Tesla 270.90
    in Heaven Benchmark
    Test machine: Win7 64-bit, GTX 580, 1920 x 1080 res

    NVidia Control Panel Settings:
    Single display performance mode
Performance Management Mode Prefer Max Performance
    Texture Filtering Quality High Quality
    Threaded Optimization Auto
    Vsync Off

Heaven Benchmark 2.5 with DirectX 9
4x AA, 16x Anistropic, Ambient Occlusion disabled
    Scores-MinFPS-AvgFPS-MaxFPS
    2222 - 45.2 - 88.2 - 184.0 - driver 270.90 with 4x AA
    2241 - 45.6 - 89.0 - 187.1 - driver 275.36 with 4x AA
    2251 - 47.3 - 89.3 - 186.2 - driver 275.50 with 4x AA

I let the Heaven Benchmark cycle through one complete time before I began the actual test because I've noticed it makes a difference. MinFPS values are held a bit higher with these 275.50 drivers. I like drivers that give the best MinFPS values. Usually my benchmarks of the 275.xx family of drivers don't show this much of an increase in Scores and MinFPS when going to the next driver version.

NVidia typically does not mention all of the things that were really changed in the release notes. I'll try some games next.

Yeah they save it for the whql or the new family driver set with a pretty power-point slide :p

    Try "High Performance" mode.

Lately I haven't seen a difference in image quality between HP and HQ modes ever since nvidia scrapped bilinear filtering. I'd be interested to hear if you can spot a difference.

Ye, seems it's more important to get 10 more points in a Benchmark then having games run smooth.

I've been getting some inconsistencies when trying to do comparison benchmarks in CoD Black Ops but the Heaven Benchmark has a lot of consistency factors programmed into it.

Here are a set of CoD Black Ops benchmarks:

Frames, Time (ms), Min, Max, Avg

    6494, 30000, 198, 247, 216.467 - driver 270.90 with 4x AA
    6406, 30000, 193, 241, 213.533 - driver 275.36 with 4x AA
    6535, 30000, 200, 244, 217.833 - driver 275.50 with 4x AA

I've never gotten a MinFPS value as high as 200 before in testing CoD Black Ops.

And here is some random yellow text just to annoy you.
P.S. You need to read infinity's posts in other driver threads to fully understand my postings.

that looks like trolling to me :p

and Infinity, why dont you test Heaven 2.5 in dx11 and extreme tessellation (with aa off)?

In dx9 its rather useless imo..
