I don't have Radeonpro, and never used it on this installlation of Windows, so I doubt it. But its good to know I'm not the only one with the issue! Looks like there could be a lot of crashed computers out there once the general public start updating to 11.6 ...

As always, another user who is inept at installing drivers and then blaming AMD. ROFL.

BSOD on 5850 - never had driver probs before. Huge disappointment!

BSODs were reported with the beta 8.860, and the same new Direct2D and Direct3D drivers used in this official release.

My Asus DCII HD6950 BSOD, with HD6970 bios, HD6950 Bios unlocked, and the original one!

    A gigabyte HD6950 card BSOD

    Your HD5850 BSOD

A couple of reports in the other thread with different GPU's BSOD.

Problem doesn't seem to be tied to a specific GPU.

Some people on here with BSOD probably haven't reported it.

    General public screwed?

I am afraid you're right. Looks like a pattern is emerging.
atikmdag.sys causes page_fault. I wish anybody from AMD with some
competence would read this forum and take action before we end up
    with hotfix 11.6g. So annoying.

The last beta driver and now 11.6 are the first drivers for me to give me this problem. All other past versions never once had a BSOD bccode 50. These are definitely not the first drivers I've ever installed, there has to be something wrong with these drivers or installer.

Any performance improvements or fixes with Dragon Age 2 over 11.5b?

I got it to work. Had to use Driver Sweeper to remove 11.5 Cap5. Metro 2033 no longer crashes. Very pleased so far.

I'm getting BSOD on boot after installing these. Fresh new windows 7 x64 install too, the only thing installed before these are the chipset drivers. Anyone has any idea?

    AMD APP SDK Runtime
    Final Status: Fail
    Version of Item: 2.4.650.9
    Size: 90 Mbytes

I cannot get the newest APP SDK to install. I uninstalled previous driver(entire package) and used Driversweeper, restarted, installed new 11.6 and it doesn't want to install the new version. I dont think the express uninstall uninstalled the old 11.5 OpenCL though. How do I manually get rid of previous OpenCL version?

Edit: Figured it out. Go to C:\Windows\Installer folder and look for the .msi file (its a random file name). Enable the tab "Title" and sort by that and look for the title named "AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing SDK Runtime". Run that and uninstall SDK. Then install new SDK version. Wonder why the uninstaller doesn't show up in Add/Remove programs.
