Well, to be fair, the OP said it's been patched to 1.2 only after Mineria posted the link, not in his original post, so I understand someone was getting miffed being told about it. =b

ok, time to leave the egos... it not matter who said what.

Garret was sharing his experience. It will be useful for some people and not so useful for others,

No need to remain in pride-defense statements.
We are humans, no need to be aggresive with answers; there arenĀ“t brains turned off.

    A hug for everybody.

In my 1st post I didn't mention 1.2, but I DID mention ubersampling was off.

So, in my first reply I was actually smiling and was very polite when I stressed that my game was patched to 1.2 + repeated that ubersampling was off.

I agree, no need for all this, I think it turned out to be quite an interesting thread, especially about how CATS treat games when you force AF, as my Two Worlds 2 small test showed and as Exodite had mentioned.

    Alls well then boys :)

Be so kind and go back to page 1.
In the first post it isn't mentioned, where after I posted a link to 1.2 to make sure that the OP had his game patched.
After there was a post from the OP telling people to read, and you came like a troll out of a box and added a pretty harsh comment about people trying to help.
If you got a bad day I suggest that you stay of the net and breath some fresh air instead, it works wonders.

No problem, just wanted to make sure that you had it patched with my first reply, and found the following "learn to read" comment a bit unneeded.
Maybe because you had it in a nested sentence.

EDIT: If you didn't already read it, this might be of interest: http://mygaming.co.za/news/pc/11862-The-Witcher-tweaks-and-fixes-guide.html

No worries there Mineria, I didn't write 'learn to read", I said "please read" and I was referring to both posts and was smiling too, no problem really :)

Yep, that was the page I read when I decided to turn off AF in the Cats Mineria :)

Thank you all again for your replies guys,

    peace :D

Im wondering, most games have a stupid AF button, to enable/disable AF, no slider to set it from 1 to 16... Is there any definite way to know which setting theyre using?

    No.
Even if you're trying to compare it with screenshots from a forced AF set from CCC, the driver's AF might not be the same as the game's AF, so in-game 8xAF might have a different result from driver's 8xAF, with different performance.

I just tried it in a few games

Dirt 2 looks worse with in game AF (Least I assume its applying AF) turned on with CCC AF turned off, gained 2FPS average

TF2 with in game AF x16 with CCCAF turned off I gained no FPS, looked worse

L4D2 using in game AF and CCCAF turned off I lost 3 FPS, but introduced a ton of texture shimmering on distant objects

Witcher 1 with In game AF turned on and CCCAF turned off, gained 1FPS, but distant textures again looked worse

You may get better performance with CCCAF turned off, but it looks worse in my eyes, in game AF has a terrible cut off point for AF filtering, I see texture shimmering in all my games with bad LOD texture cut off distances

    CCCAF looks tons better

I always have CCC AF forced on because it will probably use the highest quality possible with other HQ settings in CCC. I'll take quality over some speed loss anyday. But 19 FPS is a lot to lose.

Look into the "doorway" from both screens.

With AF ON, it is a lot clearer and more detailed and so is the surrounding.
With AF OFF, it is blurrier and details are lost due to low quality filtering. If there was no filtering at all, the wall textures would look sharp but super pixelated like old PSX games.
