    Hunted The Demons Forge + dx10 enabling

    [IMG]
    Forceware 275.27 - anyone experiencing this too? Everything high, changed to low etc. still same.

    Just looked through the ini's, they disabled dx10 and you can't enable it ingame, just over the ini.

    C:\Users\###\Documents\My Games\Hunted\DFGame\Config\DFEngine.ini

    Code:
    AllowD3D10=True
    Cost me half of my frames, maybe thats why they disabled it.

    I see the same thing.
    Btw all Unreal 3 engine games have the DX10 line in the .INI but almost none support it, for instance hells highway will crash on load.

    It's your card... it is below spec for maximum settings. See the specs and they say you need a 460 for max settings.

    Set to the setting below max and you will be fine.

    EDIT:

    Sorry reread and saw you tried that. Worked for other people with 260 /2xx series cards... so not sure why it's not working for you?

    Has anyone been able to force AA (and SSAO) with this driver for NVIDIA cards yet?

    I already have a profile with the 275.33 drivers but apparently it has the incorrect executables and requires the proper one, oddly a DLL file called P4DTRE.dll, to be added, which I did using NVIDIA Inspector. However, forced 8xMSAA is not working at all nor is SSAO despite using the recommended Wolverine setting for it.

    Can anyone help please?

    The game is not bad and definitely gets better the longer you play (the opening section is, IMHO, awful so bear with it) but visually it is somewhat bland with the usual flat UE3 lighting, weak texturing and shadows and lots of jaggies.

    Forcing DX10 and forcing AA from NVCP+ Inspector does not work for me. Ah well.

    you have to rename the file "P4DTRE.dll" to "P4DTRE.exe", then add the .exe to the profile (not the .dll).

    forcing AA and AO via NV Inspector (wolverine flags) works just fine now.

    (if the game's shortcut won't launch anymore - execute the P4DTRE.exe instead)

    I solved it.

    2 Ways:

    dx9: go ingame options, world detail middle = no flickering, etc.
    dx10: force it like mentioned (1st post) in ini. Go ingame Options, set everything high, no flickering, except vsync is disabled even it it's enabled ingame and ini, too.

    So i got a little tearing with dx10 no vsync. Either i play with dx9 no tearing or dx10 with tearing ;)

    Dunno why before, but now my fps is still 60, no half dropped like i said before.

    But i used the inspector method now ;) works better with forced vsync etc.

    Actually, I recommend using Nvidia's profile tool to add the .dll like so;
    Code:
    Profile "Hunted: The Demon's Forge"
        ShowOn GeForce
        ProfileType Application
        Executable "shippingpc-dfgame.exe"
       [B] Executable "p4dftre.dll.exe" UserSpecified=true[/B]
        Executable "dfgame.exe"
    This will work without you needing to rename the .dll so you'll have less trouble with Steam. They did the same thing with the C&C games as it uses 'game.dat' to run.

    Odd, 275.33 here and everything on highest and no anomalies on a GTX460 768MB (Gigabyte OC).

    Forcing DX10 works, causes a huge FPS drop, provides no visual enhancements that I can spot and actually causes many effects to be rendered as "red smoke"
