I tried my hardest to get into the 4ghz+ club, i pushed and pushed but i can only get it into windows for about 5mins before it crashes, i settled for a nice stable 3.875ghz. I recon i could do it if i disabled the unlocked 4th core BUT i'd rather have 4 cores at 3.9 than 3 cores at 4.0. I really want that 4ghz but it's just not to be
Tried everything, from what i understand on this CPU i'm lucky to get to what i have now on an air cooler (using a Gladiaror Max with a TY-140), still it's not bad for £50.
in about a year or so i think the mojority will move from the 3+ to 4+. Im in 3+ atm and hope by the end of this year to be in the 4+
I reached 4Ghz but then I had to sacrifice HT to lower temps..So I settled for 3.8Ghz...But as its summer time and really the only game I play is NBA 2k11, I reverted to stock for the time being XD..so Im at 3Ghz for now XD
HT seems pretty useless, I don't even know why I bother to keep it on. Almost nothing makes use of 8 threads.
Had to lower to 4ghz after liquid cooling and still haven't figured out why :bang: But still good for my cpu as it's known to not be too great at ocing. Hopefully new cpu's coming out will be better for ocing
i think ht is great if you render videos and such i use alot of sony vegas and if it couldnt render using cuda, i think HT would have been better then ht off if you think about it.. alot of people do youtube letsplays (me included) so rendering power is a big advantage
