PSN lagging like mad for me -,-
guess my next console aint from sony.

 

Hows this any different than the norm? It's always Lagggy. You get what ya pay for man.

 

^^Is it...news to me....only games i have suffered from massive unplayable lag is from the utter guff that is COD BO......this game is a mess no matter what service you play it on...be it the free PSN or the pay to play XBLive...and before you ask yes i have it on xblive and it suffers from the same issues.....lagg up the wazzo, random drops out to the lobby mid game for no reason, random drops right out even the lobby your in.

As for it being laggy now that will no doubt be due to everybody and their granny trying to log back into the PSN at one time....it will take time for it to get back up to strength.

 

Played a few hours of Motorstorm Apoc last night, no noticable lag and tbh have never had any lag issues with PSN in the past either, possible that the people complaining are simply having local connection issues.

Although I would admit ps3 automatic wifi settings can be iffy at times, I always follow the optimisation guides which can be found with a quick google.

The PSN may have more dedicated servers for certain games but most games still work via P2P exactly the same as XBlive, so it don't really matter how great a connection you might have, if the game picks a ****ty host get ready to enter laggyville.

Blame the game Dev's for their lazy assed roll of the dice matchmaking service....COD BO is a game that should be held up as a benchmark on how not to do it.

 

P2P is a great downloading method, but not a great method for gaming. Hence why you can have 64 people on a PC server without issue, yet a 1v1 in Madden is a lagfest.

 

Never experienced any lag in COD:BO on xbox live.

 

still would't expect any lag in game like mortal kombat 9 which only 1 v 1 game afterall anyway.

feels like their a 1000 ms delay on anything.

what sux more tough i cant activate online pass so only can play it online with trail pass which expires in 17 hours lol -,-

 

Wow...you have never experienced lagg on BO, never got dropped out of a lobby mid game because the host lagged, you must have some super connection were your the only person using your ISP and you hosting all games and you only connect to people 30 feet from your home.

 

For gaming, in P2P, you are a slave to the slowest connection. Hence why I only online in consoles with buddies down the street, connected to the same physical cable line. And even then, there are the occasional jitters.

 

Okay so the compensation package we are meant to be getting... how to access it? We gotta wait till PSN store is back up?

I already Plat'ed Infamous and LBP, and i will have to wait till brain to eye bionic reaction implants are the norm before i plat Wipeout. LOL

 

one would figure their selection of choices would be better
