The American startup commodore USAS have brought out a remake of the commodore 64, the minicomputer in a keyboard which was in the years eighty and ninety large sale successes. To the design has a little changed.

However, the remake contains modern hardware. Instead of 64kB working memory, to which the old version is name borrowed, sits there 2GB up to 4GB in the remake. Also its usb-aansluitingen, an optical drive - optionally blu-ray-speler -, a memory card reader and hdmi incorporated in the characteristic beige housing.

The new commodore 64x twists on Intel Atom D525 with a bell speed of 1,8GHz, a strong improvement with respect to the MOSS Technology 6510-processor with a bell speed of 1MHz, which in old C64 drunk. The computer is provided with a DC of commodore himself, but can also Windows 7 on be installed. At starting up then Windows can be chosen. Also it can be twisted old DC of C64 by means of emulator.

Commodore has accepted orderorder orders on its Internet site since Tuesday. A barebone model without mother chalkboard must 250 dollars produce, whereas C64x the Basic with 2GB must produce memory and harddisk of 160GB 595 dollars. C64x the Ultimate are the most expensive model with a ticket of 895 dollars. In this version 1TB a harddisk has been assembled, with blu-ray-drive and 4GB a working memory.

The commodore 64 ended up in 1982, and developed into a sale success, by the low price with respect to the competition. Of 8bit-homecomputer worldwide more than 30 millions copies were sold. The apparatus remained in appetite up to in the years ninety and was far for many people the first familiarisation with computers. Commodore drew the ninety plugs from the model in the middle of years, then the cost for components too high became. Around that time commodore went also bankrupt. The mark name however continues exist and in several hands has been since then.

Can I step up my original? Or is the step up void after 25 years?

what was the name of the game, where you had to guess the angle to launch artillery and blow up your opponent? talking about nostalgia my first rig was a Texas Instrument, no floppy drive, it was cartridge and tape drive based. LOL

Couldnt agree with ya more white, those games thinking back clocked same hrs or more than any game i play now, even though games are way way better today and i do enjoy the games today, theres something that was so magical about playing all those years ago.
