How Crytek doomed Crysis 2's PC version

I can fully understand the backlash Crysis 2 is getting right now. Having played the game for a couple of hours i can say that the graphics do look very nice. But why the hell is it Directx 9? The amount of money PC gamers pay to upgrade graphics card, and this is all we get for it? Sure there will be a few patches along the way, but why should we be expected to wait weeks or months for something that clearly should have been included at release.

Is anyone even playing Crysis 2 on console?

Who cares about POM? crysis version 1.2.1 had ZERO anisitropic filter on very high settings. The 'uber high textures!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' looked like absolute garbage without AF forced.


I'll take clean textures without depth over depth which is so blurry it is indistinguishable.



Remember how bad Dragon Age's textures looked........that was with 8AF......crysis had none......

i cant understand i have crysis, crysis warhead, and crysis 2...crysis 2 has much better colors reproduction, crysis is more unrealistic, lighting is superior in crysis 2, and crysis 2 has better overall graphics...and i have lower fps...than crysis 1...that means a lot... -.-

enough...haters just dont know how to config crysis 2, next time, get it on console please.

true, and at least on console you can trade it in after a day or rent it rather than limited PC activations and worse again with Steam.

 

FULMTL - you got any nice wallpapers of scenic areas in crysis 2?

I got my copy from gamestation and the guy told me that once i un-wrapped the game i could not bring it back if it didnt work properly, plus i dont think you can trade PC games in anymore.

 

What do you mean "scenic areas"? You mean like no characters and just landscape and horizons? I don't really do those, but I had some pics of AI fighting each other a while back.

Yeah, the PR on the PC version has been poor to say the least, though maybe they are thinking free bad publicity is better than no publicity.

Shogun2 is in the same camp right now though, but they have announced it exists, what features it will bring, and a rough timescale, and the contradictions suggest that not everyone at Crytek/EA are on the same page.

 

Man they are a bunch of hypocrites, really, they are making fun of pc gamers, they clearly don't give a shat..i'm so done with supporting Crytek, they are dead to me..

it's not the fact that crysis 2 doesn't look great or that it doesn't have great gameplay, cause it has both, but Crytek was known as the dev's that raised the bar every time they released a game, plus they also said many times before the game was released that pc version looks better then the console, and that it will support dx11 and so on..

C'mon Cevat Yerli, show your face, where are you hiding you little lier..talk to pc gamers, explain to them what's going on..bastard

 

To make things even worse, the game(multiplayer) has absolutely ZERO anti-cheat software. Cheaters are already rampant on most servers. MAXIMUM FAIL.
